not sure who that was addressed to - you do see that it was ONNYA who made the "uncle Ernie" remark, don't you?

I actually agree with him on that. Lots of people seem to go to concerts because it's by that band that is really big since the 70's or that artist that has this amazing turbulent career and now is playing again or whatever and not always because they love the music. So when they get to that show the music that is played on stage might not necessarily be what some of those people usually listen to so the band now has to put on a big show to compensate. Don’t think that will be a problem for The Who with Roger Daltrey there though. Even though The Who is great some of their songs in my opinion need some time to be appreciated I think.

It was funny last night listening to them introduce Real Good Looking Boy. Roger said it was a song about, and Pete chimes in and says it's about nothing. Also when he introduced the mini Rock opera he mumbled something about this was written by the two guys who are alive, because the other two were dead. Unusually blunt, even for Pete.

"It's just some friends of mine and they're busting down the door"

when Pete Townshend speaks .... I generally do not understand a great deal of what he's on about, but then maybe that's just me ?

What Pete T is saying is that in the past the people attended their concerts were predominantly dedicated Who fans, inother words the Who were perhaps their favourite band and there were few people who were just attending the gig to see a great rock band.

Pete, is saying that now, a much larger percentage of the Who audience is comprised of people going for the novelty of seeing a legendary rock band or just a rock band who people say it is worth going to see. The Who is not a special band to them, just another rock band to go and see.

His words were clear enough to me..............
