LOL--It's already started! How diplomatic of Eddie. This does not seem like it is going to work, Watch, it will end up being Gary Cherone--could you imagine?

This tour will NEVER make it past rehearsals...

Eddie has lost his mind...turns out he is the biggest trouble...as he has had falling outs with Dave, Sammy, and Michael Anthony.

Van Halen had a window of an opportunity to break the bank in 1996 and ride the tails of the Kiss reunion tour but they blew it big time over petty nonsense.

There won't be a promoter in this country that is going to advance bug bucks and take a chance on Van Halen showing up.

The Stones have beaten father time and can still do there thing...Van Halen in their 40's back in 1996...maybe...Van Halen in there 50's in 2007? No way.

What a shame.

Your right GS. It has already started. Sit back and watch the train wreck.

Had enough of Sammy. I saw them 7 times with Sammy in '91 he was great but his performances declined (steadily) with every tour. Besides he refuses to do the old tunes--which is total BS since their was a Van Halen prior to his arrival, actually it was better, imo, prior to his arrival.--was hoping to get a chance to see the original line up, does not seem likely.

btw Sammy, on lot of those shows in 2004 mailed his performance in--not cool. I mean signing autographs and singing at the same time--good grief--thank you, no.

Next!

So, I take it you are not a resident of the US? lol

Umm, so does the fact that people in the "States" care about it, somehow make it irrelevant in your mind?

I, for one, care. And, perhaps, sir, you need not respond--just a thought.......

I saw VH open up for Black Sabbath in 1978. They were FANTASTIC. VH not Black Sabbath.

I remember that tour. I saw it in Oakland. I must have been 16. Black Sabbath had RJD at that point I think.

VH, just another band that has opened for the stones, thats pretty much it for me, they argue to much but the problem is nobody cares enough to worry about it,
i think the tour will flop anyway, if it happens, BIG IF

They do argue too much, which in and of of itself is not so bad.

The problem is do it so publicly and so childishly. Worse still they (read Eddie)
has it allowed it to completely derail their (his) career. That's the sad part.

Hey Sweetcharmed. Ozzy was still with the band at that point, although one of the reasons he left was that he said when VH opened for them in 78, they blew them off the stage. Ronnie joined them around 1980 for Heaven and Hell album.
Coincidentally, Sabbath is touring again with Dio and Vinnie Appice on drums.

Touring as Heaven & Hell...without Bill Ward, but with Vinnie Appice, I believe.
I saw VH in 1984, I´ll give them a chance. My best friends brother bought their first record in 78 or 79, and after we listened to it, we felt that we heard something new, and fresh. From that moment I´ve followed VH thru the years, but I pretty much lost faith in them from the album Balance. Bought Van Halen 3 with Cherone on leadvocal, I´ve listened to it twice, and now it´s only taking up space in my bookshelf...

Yeah I think Hagar and Anthony and Montrose should go out on tour together.

VAN HALEN IS BACK!
VAN HALEN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE SUMMER TOUR
February 2, 2007
Los Angeles, CA - In what is no doubt one of the most anticipated moments in rock and roll, VAN HALEN officially announces their 2007 North American tour.

The tour will mark the first time since 1984 that original VAN HALEN front man David Lee Roth will perform with Eddie and Alex Van Halen along with new bassist Wolfgang Van Halen for 40 shows this summer.

VAN HALEN fans can look forward to legendary high intensity performances, featuring a set list of the most iconic hits ever produced by America's premiere rock band.

Eddie Van Halen states, "I am very excited to get back to the core of what made VAN HALEN."

Well, that is the first step...........

I love how after spending the last 21 years utterly trashing David Lee Roth he is now an intergral part of the "core" of VH. I happen to agree, but Ed, your views have a "weather vane" like quality to them.

Also, it is a shame that Michael Anthony is not part of the equation.

Not so much for his basslines but for his harmonies, which, to me were a huge part of VH.

Would much rather see VH as a trio with Michael Anthony than with DLR minus MA.

i think michael anthony and sammy hagar should be glad they are no longer part of the van halen brothers circus.... check out the pic on sammy hagar's site from late last year...both sammy and michael anthony look great... seen any pics of eddie or david lee roth lately?? they look at least 10 years older!
