OT: Music from your country

It's perhaps funny to see what comes from Hungarian, Dutch, Polish, etc. bands - we all know the British and US Bands!

Here is something from Austria!

His re-incarnation even if Bate is still alive (is he?)
That guy is "Hubert von Goisern" - my mum knows him, actually, I grew up not far from Goisern (that's a village). He was big in around 1996 I'd say as he combined Rock and Austrian Volksmusik.

I did! I hope you're happy now!
Maybe it takes some time to get used to that music...I'm not used to norwegian rock-folk music yet either

Lorenz, I hope you don't think it was rude that I talked badly about that folk-rock thing, the same kind of music in norwegian is MUCH worse!
ANyway, I can't find any youtube clips of that special violin some folks play here, so I can't post anything.
But it has 8 strings and look like this

We also had Falco, who was famous outside Austria too.
We have a saying by the way: to be "worldfamous in Austria".

Want to give some props to Italy and Lucio Battisti. I know there have been many big names in Italy since that do well, but IMo there has never been a greater songwriter from Italia,or much of the entire world, who wrote songs more beautiful than Battisti. I have never understood why he was not worldwide. The only time I have ever seen him mentioned in the "real" rocker circles was from the Bowie camp. David knew how good Battisti was, and Mick Ronson covered one of LB's songs with English lyrics on "Slaughter on 10th Ave".
Maybe OT but I think the reason rock'n roll is centered around USA/UK is just because the things sung about are based in those two countries, And the sh*t just sounds better in English.

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

They are consideraded the Portuguese Rolling Stones for many reasons;Their lenght on the business, allways on the road, The Guitarrist is an Huge fan of the Stones , and specially of Keith , as you can see on the video...and they open for the Stones in Coimbra 2003, where some funny stories happen when the two bands( except Mick) got together in the backstage.
