I think the Olympic Stadium has been the rumoured venue for some time now. Most gave up on the Colosseum rumour after it didnt come off last year

This is good news. The colosseum is not serious a venue. Fine for a recording, for the media, for PR, but simply shitty from the audience point of view.

Well, let's make a few points clear.
First of all the Colosseum can't posslbly accomodate an audience, it's a 2.000 years old venue and basically a mass of ruins, the structure could never host a rock n' roll show, it's a monumente.

When there was talk of a show at the Colosseum what was actually meant was a show in front of the Colosseum with the huge mall that is Via dei Fori Imperiali where Paul McCartney held a show a couple of years ago, that could host about 1 million people, but NOT inside the Colosseum.

The World Cup had a major impact on ticket sales in Italy in 1990.
Since then, there have been two successfull shows in Italy.

this is McCartney 2003 in front of colosseum,
but the problem don't exist, Genesis will play free 2007 concert at colosseum!

Yes. We are right in February. So, only 3 1/2 monthes to go. I would be surprised if the dates are not booked up bynow. With expected huge acts to perform this summer, they should announce something rapidly if they want to sell out.

If they want to sell out they have to lower their prices which they won't do.

I may be a dreamer but for once we might see a Pay-Back tour.

Why not?! Being monumental themselves I can easily see them making a 'Tour of the Monuments' or a 'Mastodons meet Monuments Tour'. Next a show on the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower, then on to Cheops. Wouldn't it be a fitting goodbye..
