I didn't think I would get away without a comment like that! GM's first tour for 15 years, but I won't go into the setlist or anything 'cos this a Stones site and I ain't going to convince you Lukester or anyone else that it was a great show! (Added benefit of some top totty there!)
okay...I'll step forward Manofwealthandtaste...I took one of my daughters to see the Spice Girls back in the mid 90's.....it was an okay show....I must say I was one of only two or three people actually in the beer line that night
sounds good, trainrollin...although I must say Michael McDonald always sounds like he is yawning while he's singing...still, Donald Fagen and Walter Becker must have been cool...
1. Rolling Stones. 2. MUSE - Total surprise! Blew me away with their supremme musicianship. 3. Ben Harper - his gig at the Hammersmith Apollo last summer was one of the best i've seen from him! Such passion and soul. 4. Guns N' Roses - still a very good band, "Sweet Child Of Mine" was note perfect. 5. Ryan Adams - stroppy and indifferent he can be, but just watch him once and you'll see why he's lauded as one of the genuinely brilliant singer-songwriters.
Only saw 2 shows but both were great. Both in Vancouver and both were the final shows of the tour. Stones and then Aerosmith/Motley Crue two weeks later.

Stones ruled, then nothing exceptional, and then Morrisey. I am no fan, in fact I hardly know his music at all, and frankly he crooned and bordered on the ridiculous, with the band in green suits, super kitsch. But then, it was one of these moments, you know? When you have a good laugh, and you thing you're laughing at the guy, then you begin laughin with the guy, and then take a fondness to him and in the end, you got the best time! In other styles, I saw Evan Parker (free jazz sax player, who in fact played with Charlie, which astonishes me because he is normally very very experimental) and that was great.
