Terrific show, and a risky setlist,
we can't hear much of Keith on the boots though,
At least 2 people from IORR attended the show.

Yeah, I went to it at the LA Forum. It was a real treat - felt VERY special (after NEW YORK had WOODSTOCK and BANGLADESH and SF had ALTAMONT LA was finally getting it's own.If I recall it was put together, announced, and executed very quickly - thanks Bianca (aww, the pressures of a bossy Latin Wife-ha). We all thought Jagger's hair was a bit too short (not anywhere as bad as the 1989 tour though) BUT the set list was amazing !!! Since the 72 Tour had just been 6 months earlier it was nice that they mixed up the show musically as much as they did. My favs were ROUTE 66, STRAY CAT BLUES, NO EXPECTATIONS, DEAD FLOWERS, ALL OVER NOW, and (encore) MIDNIGHT RAMBLER.I think the tickets were $250, $100, $50, and $25. We bought the $50 ones and had pretty damn good seats. I only have the vinyl bootleg, did they ever slap on MIDNIGHT RAMBLER - as the encore - on the CD's? (the Vinyl doesn't have it). Thank God the Boot came out cause my friend's mom tried to sneak in a small cassette recorder that they took away....those were the days.... Jagger EVEN thanked us for buying the "expensive" tickets ("I know it's a lot of bread" Mick said....WHATEVER happened to THAT attitude in 2005/6 !?!?!?)

Yes that's one of the 2 people,
nah, the last 2 minutes of StreetFightingMan, and Midnight Rambler hasn't surfaced, and probably never will. THe vinyl is still the best source, together with the Coast2Coast release.

it is not only MT last show in us, it is the last show of the golden age (?)
(the magnificent)european tour 73 is another story...

Q:the comeback MRambler exist on tape/cd???

Probably got spotted with the equipment and had to run out (but it also was a longer show than the 72 Tour ones so MAYBE the tape ran out). I remember CHEECH and CHONG opened the show (and maybe...SANTANA? I can't recall, was it SANTANA? - I'm sure about CHEECH AND CHONG - very funny boys.....

actually - it was the last show on the US Mainland - they played Hawaii subsequently and then the NZ/Aussie tour, which were more-or-less extensions of the US summer tour.....

Great version of 'No Expectations'. If I'm not mistaken MT is playing slide in standard tuning.

Hey Skelter I was there too!!!

The day of the show I was coming home from work, the radio station said that
after setting up the stage there were some extra $25.00 tickets. $100 was the
highest price. Made a bee-line for the Forum and what they were selling were the "un-sold" $100 tickets for $25!!! 18th row - left of center.

Went home, grabbed my chick and back we came. Cheech & Chong were funny as hell,
Santana was next then out came the boys, Jagger wearing a Rinestone Tierra
and cape, ( looked a little too faggie for me) GREAT SHOW!!

Got better the more they played, my fave was: You Can't Always Get What You Want

Taylor sure got the crowd going on that one. Still have the $100 ticket stub!

Taylor's solos were inspired that night, far better than the noodling canoodling fanoodling hanoodling Europe/UK '73 ones....Mick's voice sounded shite on the bootleg, though. Keith hardly looked like he was there, from the pics.

Well this was Jagger's Gig, for his wife. Don't remember much of "Keith"
I was on Taylor's side. And Jagger of course.. If I wasn't looking at one Mick,
I was focusing on the other..

Well, since no one has yet called MCDDTLC on what I consider to be a slur against gay people, I will. I hope that someday language like that won't be tolerated like it still seems to be accepted today.

I once owned a bootleg of this performance that had excellent cartoon graphics, a panel for each song (Trade Mark of Quality, I believe, was who produced it). And I think that the Stones were heavily criticized for charging $25 for tickets to this show, by the way.

Some posted the show recently but it kind of sounds bad, vocals are hard to hear over the music and its kind of muddled. Don't know which one that was.

You have to have a different, humble, approach to hollow classic audience recordings, in order to enjoy them.

As in Humble Pie?

I totally understand that Eric, no complaining just throwing out a line to see if your source material is of higher quality.

I had the same bootleg album on Trade Mark of Quality. Bought it mail order in about 1974. Remember that Mick Taylor was VERY clear on the recording, but could hardly hear Keith. Loved it. Loaned it (and a couple of others) to a guy about 25 years ago and never saw it again! The cartoon graphics were great fun. On my copy the album was on red vinyl in a single cardboard sleeve. The cartoons were printed on a separate sheet of paper.

actually I sort-of agree with that.
I reckon they were all spaced out high on drugs...
MT in particular plays some "strange" solos - surely he was on heavy drugs that night.
Although his work on No Expectations is special...
