OT? Or where is the Stonesconnection? Only icelandic music I can think of is Björk, and man, is she weird. Or to put it mildly, she sucks, probably in more ways than one.... winking smiley

I saw Bjork when she was with the Sugarcubes when they opened for U2 in Vancouver 1992. At the time, I didn't know who they were and I didn't care for them.
I recall seeing a video of Bjork several years ago when she is arriving at an airport and a local reporter asks her a question and she just loses it and attacks her!

Sigur Ros totally rule!!!

Oh, I think I misread your question. Not only do Sigur Ros rule but also rock live. They played close to my hometown in Poland last year and it was a very strong show. Bjork played in my hometown 4 years ago but I didn't go. I don't like her that much.

I thought the guy from Iceland in Rock Star SuperNova was the most talented.

Missed the cubes when they were in my hometown, alas, alas.
Guess I was zonked out somewhere.

I like Björk; but anyone who wants are free to suggest
album-starters...

I think you'd need to use equally disparaging comments about 15-20 other female singers if it means ruling them out in order to place Bjork as the worlds most famous female singer

For what its worth, I think Bjork is quite talented.

Isn't Emiliana Torrini half Icelandic? Top half or bottom half, I'm not sure, but I love her music.
