Which shows did you attend?

I like to indulge with my pre gig "aperitivo"s (vodka & tonic) as much as I can, so by the time I am in the venue the opening act is over.

I broke my rule once, MSG 2003, and assisted to an absolutely embarassing performance by ryan adams in an almost empty garden (I had my good reasons to do so: the only way to find an empty place in fos was to arrive very early)

SCREAMING JAY HAWKINS MSG NOV 13 1981.

I believe (and I'm sure someone here can confirm it or squash it) that James Brown was supposed to open the Garden shows but missed his plane from Georgia or some crazy story like that.

Hey Pete,I was at the '94 shows in Oakland. I don't remember Seal opening. Didn't Pearl Jam open those shows?

Pearl Jam opened in Oakland '97.

I was at the Halloween Oakland show. Stones did 4 shows there. Not sure who all opened the other 3, but it was Seal on Halloween.

Got my favorite Stones tee shirt there. Has tongue logo on front with fangs. On the back, Voodoo Lounge 1994, Halloweek, with the 4 dates, with pumpkins with Stones tongue cut out on pumpkins.

Have been offered by many people to buy my tee shirt, but I tell them all I'll sell it for $1000. ( What it cost me to get the week in San Fran, and Oakland ).

Went to the Stones show a week later, Nov 7, at the Cotton Bowl.

I also caught Elmo's award winning act in Atlanta. I saw that same Jagger mask in a recent episode of the "Knights of Prosperity." Of course I thought of Elmo.

Hey Ohno....I was there in Nashville....I thought Lifehouse put on a good show....at that time I didn't know squat about them....I think my girlfriend had one of their CD's but I never listened to it....I remember they rocked!!!

also:

Living Colour

Blues Travelers (I play harmonica, but after 3 or 4 songs with long harmonica solos ala John Popper, this band sounded, shall we say, repetitive)

Goo Goo Dolls (some punks sitting beside me were there to see the Goo Goo Dolls....not the Stones)

Wilco

I haven t seen an opening act since Living Color. I think I walked in on the last song played by Counting Crows and Foo Fighters. Usually I have a beer in my hand and not even near my seat during the opening acts. This is for most concerts I go to. I must say Plant was in good form in '02 with The Who. However, I only saw maybe 3 songs.

I saw one of those shows. Pretty great double bill, Plant and the Who. I've seen them both several times, so it was nice to get 2 for the price of 1.
