Like Charlie said, Ronnie is'nt the new kid on the block,he's been there over thirty year's. Enough of mick taylor please already. It's starting to become boring these mick taylor thread's,if it was Brian i would understand.
Boring listening to great music go read threads about ron wood making faces if that what you like.taylor is part of the stones greatest music in the studio and live .

Is it just a myth that Brian featured on an early version of Honky Tonk Woman? I thought he played guitar on it and they later re-recorded the track after he went and Taylor joined.
i've heard that Brian played a tape of HTW for his parents, when it was still in its early stages. i've also seen Taylor quoted as saying HTW was virtually finished when he came on board and that all he did was add some fills. not to demean his fills - just that by his own account he didn't throw it against any walls or otherwise transform the number.

Perhaps you'd like us all to pretend that the years 1969-1974 never happened?

Perhaps the Fatmanaholics would like us to pretend that the years 1963-1968 and 1975-2007 never happened. My GOD,the man quit years ago.He is a little footnote in their history. What I'm really shocked at is the fact that Chuck Leavell has the same job Stu had and still walks the earth as a free man.Now that is a situation worth bitching about!
Now,having said that, enjoy the little youtube vid; Just try to keep it all in perspective.MT is gone, and the great Ronnie Wood is here, silly facial expressions and all.
Got to love Ronnie, gonna put on the Crossexion right now........loud!

Ever thought of asking yourself as to why so much of the setlists consist of material from the 1969-1974 era?

Because Mick Taylor wrote such great songs? Because for many years they had an aversion to playing stuff owned by Klein? Beacuse they don't really care about what you want to hear? Because they play what they want to play?

Not really. Its not like those songs would not exist without the fatman....jeez...who wrote them......uh....Jagger and Richards is their names,I think.
OpenG Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > yeah how many times has keith @#$%& up the intro's > to BS JJF and other songs > > the stones are a garage sounding band when they > play small gigs and large stadiums LOL
Ok, OpenG,lets get to the bottom of this thing once and for all:Why do you hate the Rolling Stones so bad?If you love Mick Taylor so much, thats great.Nothing wrong with that. The problem is that you are so ready to pounce on Keith and Ronnie. Why?So what if Keith screws up an intro? I don't care. And what has Ronnie Wood DONE to YOU?If you went to a Show,I can promise that Ronnie wants you,OpenG,to have a great time.Thats his job.Every time I've been, its been a blast. They deliver the goods......without Mick Taylor. If only you could give up your hate and go to a show, you'd see.

It would seem pretty obvious that they perform such a huge chunk of their setlists from that era because that is what the vast majority of fans (especially casual ones) like to hear. i.e. the classics. It was their defining era during which they were truly inspired, AS A BAND, to create some of the greatest music made by any band ever. Mick Taylor was part of that creative process, unlike the type of songwriting procedures they have resorted to over the last twenty-five years or more.

ok........am I missing something here??? Somebody posted a link to a video clip of Mick Taylor, correct?? And somehow it gets twisted around in a negative way and people are calling Taylor the fatman and other people are knocking Woody and Keith........why do we always have to get so negative???
