Atlantic City a Source for a New Live Album?
Posted by: bassplayer617 ()

Who was there? The performance was so inspired, it's hard to believe that this wasn't recorded on multi-track. The band does this for ALL their shows, don't they?

As perfectionist as these guys are, I'd suspect that they review the shows for ideas on tightening up the performance. I'd be willing to bet that Chuck does this, and if he notices something particularly good (or bad), he points it out to Mick and/or the rest of the band.

I'm engaging in conjecture, but wouldn't you think that this sort of post-review does happen?

I'm happy for you, really. After hearing outstanding boots of earlier shows (including Glasgow & Saitama), this one was particularly special.

Did you notice any movie cameras about, or strategically-placed microphones above the crowd?

I was at this show , I must have missed something . It was my 6th show of the tour and I thought it was one of the weakest I had seen .

My biggest disappointment was missed lyrics during "Loving Cup " . Mick totally missed my favorite line "Yes, I am nitty gritty and my shirt's all torn,
but I would love to spill the beans with you till dawn "

I was there, 6th row on the walkway. You can see the green Shidoobee shirt in the artwork. AC and ATL2 were the best shows I saw from ABB, with RCMH a close 2nd. Several people who were at both told me it was better than either Beacon show.

What??? This show ROCKS. There are a lot of words you could use to describe this show, but "weak" sure isn't one of them.

I wouldn't say that Mick "totally" missed the lyrics in Loving Cup. He actually sang "...yes, I am nitty, gritty and my shirt's all torn. But I would love to push and pull with you til dawn." He didn't nail it exactly, but he didn't totally miss it.

that's better than "spill the beans" - i've always found that to be one of the weaker lines in the otherwise masterful Loving Cup. just makes me think of beans, beans, they're good for your heart . . .etc.

No more frickling live albums PLEASE, how many times can the Stones release live CDS, I love the shows but a live CD doesn't cut it IMHO.

"All Down the Line" was the best song that night. Ronnie was great.

I thought the crowd was boring, very very boring that night...All high rollers from the casinos.

Amen! It's just downright criminal that they keep throwing these same-old-tour souvenirs at us, while arguably their two best tours continue to go unrepresented via live product....

This was the best performance I have heard from the tour. Really.

After listening to the show a few times, it sounds tired, and full of mistakes. Cant hold a candle to some of the other ones. I cant believe someone said its the best show of the tour...I saw many better ones...Just wish someone would turn up the recording of Baltimore....THAT was a show. IMHO, Hershey, Charlottesville and DC were MUCH better performances. Get the Last LA DVD, the audio is specatcular!

I was there...the sound from the arched ceiling was excellent; brought my
15yr old daughter to her first Stones concert since I attended her Panic at
the Disco show;

...but I agree with custom55; lots of high rollers from the casino's who
didn't know "loving cup" from dixie cup;

Just Amazing...My wife said she was disappointed that they played SATISFACTION. But what an inspired version that was....and Brown Sugar...It seemed like Keith really felt bad about missing the first show

Concerning Satifaction: I am not disappointed that they played it, I was disappointed how they played it. Keith's intro was great, but all in all I did not like it at the show, and it sounds even worser on the recording. Those clumsy backing vocals alone make me shudder, particularily during this call-and response thing: SATISFACTION! SATISFACTION! SATISFACTION! bbrrr. And Keith's solo is also nothing to write home about. The one who saves it is Jagger alone. But then, that's just my opinion.

I was there , I posted before on this concert and said I felt it was one the "weaker " shows I'd sen on the ABB tour . ( I saw 7 in all ) . And I really caught hell from other posters .

I may have been anticipating a date with an old girlfriend ( from 30 years ago )the next day or been a little pissed off at having my camera confiscated

I'm the guy getting searched as the reporter is speaking on " The Stones At Boardwalk Hall " video [www.nbc40.net]

Well regardless I hope that this show comes out on a boot or is the subject of a live oficial release . Like to know what the hell I missed !!

The biggest thing I remember is Mick missing my favorite line from Loving Cup

i was at the 2nd beacon show as well as 12 other bang shows.......i dont know what all the buzz is about, this was an average show at best.

any show not containing midnight rambler should ever be considered the best of a tour

beacon was way better
albany ny was way better
all the garden shows were better
as was the opening night of fall tour at foxboro

and as for the recording quality, its ok but not great
you can only take so much of charlies snare drum pinging like crazy
