Shine A Light On You.........

What a heartbreaking ballad...the Stones song Elvis should have done...or James Brown...god bless him!! Always loved it..I wonder is it about Brian..or Marianne?...mostly good songs are about everyone...like Miss You(Some Girls version) could be about everyone one miss..its a feeling I guess...Shine..is about Marianne I think.

I think the referance to Berber jewelry makes a strong case for Brian

>> Jagger gave it all in this song <<

yeah he sure did

i never could see it as being about a female
(if only because of "makin bloodshot eyes at every woman that you meet")
but it sure is someone the Mick loves a lot.

I thought I once read that this song was about Keith--might have been in the 33 1/3 book.

Yea that's a beautiful song, the Voodoo Lounge versions are great too, and the version released on the Leon Russel album, featuring both Mick's.
Come to think of it, there's only the 2 Mick's at the Exile version too...or was Charlie there? At least Keith is missing.

I'm sorry but when you guys are saying the VL version do you mean Shine a Light when it was played in 95?

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

Hi Rooster,
it's available on several bootlegs as well.
It was released on a limited edition CD of Leon's first album,
under the tile "(Can't Seem To) Get A Line On You".
It's not really Leon's version, but he plays piano on that one.
