Yeah I was considering getting it JUST for CYHMK being different but still didn't. I'm not sure about anyone else but I find that when I have the CD of a DVD performance...I get bored of the DVD.

That happened to me during B2B when I got the St. Louis CDs and then i got the DVD of the show...I wasn't that interested because I knew the songs too well already. Same with the Double Door to an extent..and Bremen '98. I soon realized that it wasn't good if I got both things and just stick to one.

I can't imagine being tired of Four Flicks--or would even want to. That's why I've never touched Live Licks.

Yeah, I hear you. But what other club show of 2002/2003 has such sound quality and setlist? Toronto Palais' sound is great, but BOY is it rusty!

i've been rereading According to lately, and just came across a bit where Charlie's saying
that SFM is a peculiar number to be playing on stage in an era when there are no streetfighting people -
so maybe he's the source of the sense of incongruity. (i know Chuck proposes setlists,
but the proposals are based on something, including questions like "what will everyone in the band feel good playing")

I know why they do not play it anymore. It's not because there are no street finghting people anymore these days.

It is because the sleepy London town doesn't exist anymore. I was there celebrating newyears eve: London was not sleepy at all. We had a great time.

Allow me this bad one... ;-)

Or because a lot of people realize that the song itself is kind of over-rated (ducks behind turned-over table).

Yep. True.

But why do I have the feeling that I'm looking at a reïncarnation here, Black Nikousine? Or do you probably have white bearded family here on the board?

The white was more aimed at the skin color, as opposed to the black skin of the cousin of a certain notorious poster on IORR... But it is nice, you're working your way up in the Online Users list.

I find Micks vocals the best ever. This is the best version ever.

I'll through my non-existent powers grant you a pass on your pun, only because I too have spent many a New Years Eve blind drunk in Trafalgar Square...still don't know how I got back to Bedford.

the best thing about the looped intro to Gimme Shelter on that DVD is that I can briefly see myself in the audience taking a pic of Keith just as hes trying to boot Woody up the arse....

the Stones have said that? Really? Find that hard to believe

I think the main reason why they havent played it is because Mick simply doesnt like singing it that much. Im pretty sure he said that in an interview some years ago. Considering its one of their best known songs, it hasnt actually been played that much since 1978 when you think about it.

It was a fantastic opener in 2002-2003 when they used it, though.

The live bootleg version is the best.

- I do

- Well, I don't

- Doesn't matter, 'cos I do

- You're wrong

etc etc
