I saw that 77 show about 3 weeks after you...at MSG, I agree, I remember it like it was last night...although I feel a lot better today then the day after back then. LOL

LOL!

Been my second favourite group for years & years & years. Stones & Zep have always been up there. I've never met a Zep fan who didn't like the Stones, But one thing I've found - the more obsessed (by which I mean scary-trekkie obsessed) the more they seem to dislike Zeppeiln.

I do have my theories on that.

hey Bingo (i once had a dog by that same name-o),

I bet that was great at MSG in 1977. I saw them in Greensboro, NC. I was right in front of the stage (remember festival seating?). I could feel the condensation of steam from No Quarter (dry ice machine), and the heat from the flash bomb on Rock and Roll. Remember Jimmie playing that triple neck guitar? I can't remember which song(s) that was. Remember the violin bow (on Kashmir, I think)? Man, great show.

Think they'll dip into realeasing any '77 stuff? The awesomeness of that just might convince the other boys to hit the vaults.

Serioulsy - How the West is, so far, the best official live release from either band... so far.

Jimmy or JPJ playing the triple neck acoustic? I think it was JPJ? We in NYC never had festival seating, I didn't learn about that until I started to tour with The Grateful Dead.

I wish we had that for shows at MSG, but it was always seats on the floor, well at least since 77 when I started going to shows.

I have Seatrle 77 on DVD 7-17-77 to be exact....by far it's the best No Quarter, JPJ just about covers every genre' of music while he's jamming on the keys.

It's my favourite Led Zep show of all time.

Hey look, it's 2 of my fav posters, Lukester and Bingo. Yeah, my older brother Craig saw a few of the 77 Zep shows and I remember him raving about the acoustic part of the show. Do you guys remember the song list for that? I think it went: BATTLE OF EVERMORE/MYSTERY TRAIN (Elvis)/BLACK COUNTRY WOMAN/DANCING DAYS (last Forum Show only)/BRON-YUR-STOMP - Wow, that's a great little acoustic set (I think I have it right). Hearing all the Bootlegs Craig has I must say I wish they had played more of PRESENCE live. FOR YOUR LIFE would have been great. The 3 Shorter songs....Yeah, a great album IMHO.....

Damn, Bingo, ya beat me to it. I was just about to post the setlist from the last US LED show. I was at that show, and the day before, the setlist was the same except the day before they added Black Dog after R & R.

yeah, They only changed a song or two, but the jams, now that's where they're different. Jimmy and JPJ would take songs to where they needed to go that night.

The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead...76-79..those were some good touring years.

Man, these setlists bring back some fond memories. I also remember (May 31, 1977) Page doing a long guitar solo while Plant sat cross legged on some huge amps or stage speakers grinning out at us on the floor. Do you guys recall what song Page typically did the long guitar solo on?

Also, Bonham did the mandatory drum solo....I can't remember which song that was either. Any hints?

Any official 77 stuff coming? I'd love to hear Ten Years Gone and Battle for Evermore live.

I think the problem with the 77 tour is the erratic guitar playing. There would have to be lots of editing by Page to do.

Hey James, TEN YEARS GONE is out officially as an MTV type Video from the Knebworth Show. My brother Craig has it recorded on VHS tape from one of those Led Zeppelin weekend things on VH1 or something. It's before Page did the big clean up job for the DVD's but it's still really nice. Plant's voice cracks a few times but it's all good. The sound mix is really good and crisp but not PERFECT like the DVD box set. They only played it at one of two Knebworth shows.

Bingo, thanks for that list.Yeah, I forgot about GOING TO CALIFORNIA. I talked to Craig yesterday when he was off his meds and he did say that at the Last Forum show they did a verse and chorus of DANCING DAYS - just Jimmy and Robert with Jimmy on Acoustic - not a very long version.

All of My Love, or whatever it's called, was unforgivable to me at the time. They were going pop! Maybe Bonham's passing saved their reputation for all eternity.

77 was a great tour. Saw two of the four (five?) shows at the Forum in L.A. I was so drunk at both shows, all I really remember is the laser show/violin bow thing. sure I had a great time though.

Doesn't the Song Remains the Same movie/soundtrack tie into that tour?

No, SRTS was 1973, released 3 years later.

For Your Live is one of Page's best guitar solos.

There were six shows at the forum 6/21,6/22,6/23,6/25,6/26,6/27. They also played six in New York a few weeks earlier.

Is the quality good from the Seattle 77 show? I have about 70 minutes from the New York show earlier on that tour. It is about a 7 out of 10 quality wise but there isn't much from the 77 tour. It would be great to get a full show from 72,75,77.
