get paid before they go on tour,due to the fact, that cohl buys the whole brand name "rs on tour " before they only played a single tone. it is his business to sell out the stadiums, not the stones. the stones have already their money before entering just a single stage.

I don't know, but Mick is always the last bitch to get payed. (this is if you accept the the theory that in 'All About You' Kieth is talking about Mick).

This would be my guess so they don't have to run around looking for a bank to cash the check in some strange city. Per diems are usually handed out in whatever the local currency is.

It's more of a barter deal. Plasma screen for a concert. Broadway tickets. Lifetime supply of shrimp. That kind of thing.

bernard, lisa, blondie etc are getting paid per concert blondie told me once, think it was about 5000 us$ (Licks).

I think this is correct. Remember that the Stones get a guarantee, up-front, from the local promoter of the show. The promoter then has the risk of getting all the tickets sold.

I think the deal is a minimum guarantee - Stones get a minimum sum upfront and then a percentage on everything above breakeven of the tour.

Anyway - we should be gratefull they pay their backing band so well that they always manage to give us the best hired hands available in the business. I don't know if everyone's aware how lucky we are. When I think about it, I almost cry. Yes - I get emotional - probably because they're beginning their last tour next year.

Most people who aren't in the inner circle don't know that all checks are cut from the Stones' London office. All employees including, Keith, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts are required to punch a time card 4 times a week. The only exception is Mick Jagger who is not required to clock in.

Well, when they tour, it certainly SEEMS like the band simply withdraws funds directly from my checking account whenever they feel like it.

Cash

They're paid $1000 and a lifetime supply of Jalapeno Poppers at Ruby Tuesdays.

Crew is paid by check from the new york office bi-weekly and per diems are paid in cash every week early on.

Overtime is paid at 1 1/2 standard wage and bonuses are common at the end of the tour. Some guys get paid double just because they perform two jobs on the same tour. It's all budgeted closely by the tour mamagers accountants and overruns are usually contracted to be taken from the promoters cut but guaranteed to the crew.

I believe the 4 Stones get paid a percentage of the merchandise as a "liscencing fee" regardless of whether they have negotiated the gross merch sales away to the promoter for a guaranteed fee. Whatever way the promoters can get it to look sweet and guaranteed for Mick and crew and beat out everybody else who's trying to bid (and is qualified) is what they choose I'm pretty sure. As the revenues change with trends and markets it's all about guaranteed bottom line to the Stone's. They even have a unique position of power to demand X amount and let everything else just flow down from there.

In the end only 5 or 6 entities get rich. The 4 Stones, the promoter(s) and the managing executive director....

As far as royalty payments, they come in the form of checks from the publishing houses usually twice a year and usually way behind and strangely accounted for as to make it near impossible to audit properly. When you have a catalog of material as big as Jagger-Richards, I'll bet they get checks from hundreds of different publishing sources, not just mechanicals from record sales.
