Man he is such a knob! Him and his fake hair dread plugs, and all the lame postponments of his next disc.

Anyhow...I am not a fan of his high pitched nasal sqeaul.....he ruins a classic Stones song that hasn't been done much live! The Stones are on it! And jam a great version, too bad Mick doesn't sing the entire song.

G and R are/were highly overrated!

As I only listen to the audio I hear a great performance of 'Salt of the earth', my favourite Stones song. They should have released it on RARITIES. There are only a few more live recordings, and ROCK'N'ROLL CIRCUS has only live vocals and a pre-recorded background.

gotta admit, didn't know much about Axl or the Gunners before I saw this back in '89 and became a fan of both immediately. the man has charisma and talent....

I think the past tense, had, should be used to describe his talent.

but, you're using the present tense.....

Remember the version of Salt of the Earth Mick and Keith did at the concert for New York after 9/11? That was pretty good.

I`m kind of surprised of your reaction. The reaction is very similar how a lot of people react when Mick Jagger moved on stage in the 60th and 70th. I thought that all that like Stones support other band who are controversy. That doesn`t mean that you have to like their music or if they do stupid things that hurt or offend other.

People loved it at the time. My high school was a-buzz about it (remember the 3-D gimmick for that show?)

the 3-D gimmick wasn't for the AC '89 gig - it was for the Japanese show in '90....

Fox TV ran an edited version of AC 89 with three 3D numbers (2000 Light Years, Paint It Black and It's Only Rock & Roll).
there are some different camera angles in it as well, and the sound was better than the original PPV.
the 3D stuff on Paint It Black is quite cool.

for years and years i only owned two pieces of Stones footage: VHS tapes of that Fox broadcast and of 25 x 5.
i believe i have them memorized.

LOL with sssoul! Me too!

I also taped the TV version of 25x5 and that AC gig (here in Canada it was on Muchmusic. You could buy your glasses and "Steel Wheels Popcorn" at 7-11. And we had 2 VCRs, so I dubbed Rewind and Lets' Spend the night together too. In fact, I remember making audio copied of all of these, too!

Ah the pre-digital days! I'd get vinyl boots at a record store...
