Best shows ever are also the longest?

In Vancouver last nigth Stones performed the longest ABB show and I do believe it was the best of them all. Other shows over the years also come in mind, Knebworth 76 and LA 75 and NY 75. All these shows are longer and that makes them all classic Stones performances that is hard to beat even for the Stones themselves. It would be nice if some soundboard tapes shows up one day...

No. The recordings from NY and LA 75 are great, that's why the boots are classics. There are better shows from that year, at least "just as good"
Philly 81, that's a long one, but certainly not among the best shows that year.
Vienna/Mannheim 1973...not the best
Philadelphia 1989...not the best
Miami 1994...not the best
Vancouver 72...not the best
Washington 94...not the best
etc....not the best

Running time I clocked when I recorded Vancouver last night was 2hr 17 mins.

I love long shows, the longer the better for me!

To johang's point, though......I wish the 72/73 shows were longer. All the great things we say about 72/73 are true- but I wish the shows would have been longer by 4 or 5 more songs.

While we're on the subject, in the modern Stones concert era 69+, what were teh average concert lenghts from each year? I would think the three shorest were probably:

1) 72/73 (I lumped those together)
2) 78
3) 69

don't give me that ole one two, one two three four

i dont think lenth of a show means a real lot.anything at least 1 hr 45 min,can be great.its the performance that is most important.now if its 3 hours and it rocks, thats the grand slam.my 1st stones show was phillie in 78,they played 95 minutes and kicked ass.ac last week,1hr 55min,and it was awesome.
