Just wondering.... if Richards and Wood swapped responsibilities on certain songs. If so, which ones?

i think they did that this tour. I remember Ronnie playing more leads than Keith. I was surprised to see and hear ron play the lead in Tumbling Dice

Really? Check the B2B dvd. They strap a camera onto the neck of Ronnie's gitbox for his TD solo.

I think Ronnie has always played the solo on "Tumbling Dice" ever since he joined the band........the only time I've heard Keith play it was on the album version. But they've sort of always swapped roles and licks and stuff. It seems like Keith more or less throws in lead licks whenever he wants. The arrangments for most songs have changed over time.....take "Gimme Shelter." When it debuted live on the '69 American Tour, Keith did the leads. Then in '72/'73 Taylor played the solos....then on the '75 Tour Ronnie played the solos. If I'm not mistaken, they didn't play it live again (maybe once or twice unless I'm forgetting something) until the Steel Wheels tour of '89. These versions were quite different with Keith playing the main solo and Woody throwing in fills. Another song that has changed is "Sympathy For The Devil". Just think of how that arrangment has changed since the studio version and the Rock and Roll circus version. I think lots of people don't realize that Woody played the middle solo in the '75 version found on Love You Live and he also throws in a signature lick in almost every live version I've heard that he plays on that's actually a Keith lick that was done on the original studio version. Also, on something like "Beast Of Burden", they both play lead licks and fills.....and there's not much of a "solo" although on the studio version, Ronnie did play those signature licks in the songs middle section....

The middle solo on SFTD from the 75 tour is form the LA Forum and Keith does the first solo...then Ronnie at the end..........

I really think Ronnie played the middle solo on SFTD on the '75 tour......I remember hearing Love You Live through headphones and you can hear a better separation of the guitars. Keith comes in first during the outtro solo and then Ronnie joins but listen to it with headphones and see what you think...also, I've heard a version from New York featuring Eric Clapton.....Woody starts out the middle solo playing licks similar to the Love You Live version from 7/9/75 in L.A. Then Clapton comes in after him....you can hear it very clearly. The thing is, Keith is playing bass, so I know he's not doing that first lead part in the middle. I don't think its' a coincidence that the Love You Live version has a middle solo that's very similar to the one Ronnie played in New York on 6/22/75......but its' just my opinion.
