yes it's true. her name's Rita, if memory serves, and hail hail & thanks & praises to her. one detail that i'm not sure of: is it right that she was the judge's niece? if so i reckon that made it easier for her to approach him with her plea on Keith's behalf - not that her deed was any less beautiful/heroic because of that! she's actually from Montreal; Keith dedicates songs to her when he's played there.
She's also namechecked in the liner notes for the official release of The New Barbarians. "Guided by blind Stones fan, Rita Bedard, Canadian Judge Lloyd Graburn had passed sentence on Keith Richards on 24 October 1978..."
