yes pal i have a extensive music collection and enjoy all kinds of music my second fav artist after the stones is Dylan. but that vibrato I cant get enough of because taylor's guitar is like a voice and makes you HAPPY after a long day at work and after doing all the family stuff just kick back and listen to the
vibrato.

Mr OpenG,you are the Mick Taylor champion from hell,I thought I was a MickTaylor lover..I just don't agree with him being that must more talented then Ronnie..more power to you......My favorite Taylor moment recently is when he blew Clapton away at John Mayall's 70th birthday gig, also it's a crime against guitar players everywhere that the song California from that gig wasn't put on the DVD,its on the CD,but I would have loved to see it up close and personal...

yes that solo california i thought was his best solo for 2003.

the thing about taylor is he is all around player and can hold down the rhythm
listen to him playing BITCH live on LAG or his chunky rhythm on Carol,Littel
Queenie, and live with me on Ya Ya,and SFTD.

AS a test go find every EXTENDED Keith solo or a keith riff and you will find
Taylor doing his part holding up the rhythm.

play that guitar boy

As I said in my thread about Woodie ,I love Mick Taylor also..Ronnie is a mean rythmn also, and so was Brain for that matter,I think Mick T and Ronnie are neck and neck in that area of playing, both great slide players,I give Mick T. the edge on straight up soloeing,I think I read you saw the Faces and the Stones in the 71-74 period..I'm 38 and saw Ronnie solo 1992 Mick taylor 93 and 2000 front row for both,,been playing guitar since 92..tell you what I only play slide in standard tuning because of both..except for recording..

no I never saw the faces or the stones in the 70's I grew up with the woody era
(OUCH).you are confusing me with others here on the board.

Woody cant touch MT's soloing or playing the Slide. As for rhythm I am sure if taylor wanted he could of been a more proflic player if he choose.

Hi OPENG,

Thanks for this but none of the tracks seem to play properly. I think they mustn't have loaded off the CD properly.
Cheers

I still do not know how this paring came about. It's interesting for me to listen to what Taylor finds to play in Lee's speedball, boogie, blues-based RnR. Taylor gives it all a welcome shot of musical class. His grand moment during this tour was on "Can't Stop." After one performance Lee says "Mick Taylor! Amazing!"

I have not listened to this recording in a while. I recall thinking the dates and locales are suspect. I have in mind that Taylor plays on the first 5 tracks and not thereafter. If the 1/2/81 date is correct, it was before Taylor joined Lee on stage. In mid-January 1982 Taylor and the Bluesbreakers opened the Reunion Tour in the Bay area.

This tour with Lee was marked by Taylor's appearance on Dec. 14 in Kansas City with his old band

The Alvin Lee Band with Mick Taylor opened up a leg of Black Sabbath's "Mob Rules" tour in the U.S. in 1981. That was the tour they were on when Mick Taylor joined the STones in Kansas City.
