Vancouver - 34 years on - another radical set list?

The set list in 1972 included Torn and Frayed (not played live again until 2002) and Ventilator Blues (don't think this has made it again). I think it was the first gig on the tour. In total 9 songs off of Exile.

Maybe that memory will inspire the end of Tour set-list this time....

They always drop a few songs after the first couple shows that pretty much disappear for good.... In 1975 they were playing LUXURY and DANCE LITTLE SISTER off the then new album, IORR, but that didn't last very long......(at least they keep FINGERPRINT FILE in for a long time AND why they didn't include/work on TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE and TILL THE NEXT GOODBYE is still one of earth's mysteries)

Till the next time would probably not tranlate in a live situation. It's a great song on record but not on stage. And Mick Taylor was no more there to play Time waits for no one.

Buffalo got TOP in 1981, near the beginning of that tour, and it was great. Unfortunately, it went back into the closet to gather dust.

Is it better to see them at the beginning of the tour, where you seem to have a better chance at seeing a nugget, or later n the tour, where the band is tighter, but with a more stale setlist?

REALLY
I disagree in a big way.
The song would translate very well with a country flavor to it

I play this one on my guitar all the time and it sounds really great and its really fun to sing

I think Till the Next Time would be a GREAT deep cut for the boys to play

The Idol Mind version of the '72 Vancouver show is a nice recording of an interesting show. Beside the setlist, the band was working out the arrangments and rhythms of the songs, so the arrangement of many of the songs is a touch different than the ones later in the tour that became so familiar. Take a listen to BBJ. Taylor plays the lead and it is not shared with Keith. T&F stumbles at the start, but there are moments in there when Keith and Taylor find their groove. It's wonderful. I've seen a photograph from this show. Keith stood stage left, to Jagger's right. A rarity, of course.

When you wear out the other '72 recordings, try this one for a change of pace.

The start of the tour, definitely. I'm still kicking myself for not going to an early gig and missing out on Back Of My Hand, Out of Control and (especially) She's So Cold.
