I heard that old Who song "Boris The Spider" recently. Not a bad song but really bizzare.
What do you think are some of the most bizzare rock songs? Here are a couple I could think of;

"Boris The Spider"
"Maxwells' Silver Hammer"

They´re coming to take me away...

No, there are many weird song you'll never gonna hear, wrong language:

Some samples

Krunch (oi-punk) (S)
The Kristet Utseende (S)
A.E Bizottság (H), ex. album Jégkrembalett

Lennys suggestions The Monks is a good one. 1965 I'd say.
Devo is a similar thing.
Others in Anglo-Saxon world Cn Beefheart, Zappa,
Electric Prunes' later stuff, Pop Group

Will fill in. This is like my special area.
Swedish GudIBrallan (~God In My Pants) is great.
Dutch Normaal is a pretty bizarre group.

Most of the 60ies rocksongs is Bizarre to my ears, and I think they should be..
Zappa made only bizarre rocksongs, and that what the purpose with Mothers music...but I guess that isn't the point with this thread...

Baboon..wasn't Gunder Hägg even more bizzare than Gudibrallan...???

steverogan1, did you know that Zappa's group in '88 did a fantastic, absolutely no tongue-in-cheek version of I Am the Walrus? Can be found on YouTube. Fantastic I say!
And I even read that on that tour, Zappa did some of his greatest solos ever on that particular tune!

Moulty - The Barbarians (the one-handed drummer, Moulty, delivers a spoken-word inspirational plea for a girl in the thickest Boston accent you've ever heard. Backing musicians on the track? The Band)

Fire - The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown

Moulty is a hell of a song.
The Beatles & The Stones were fun bands around 1966-68.

How about "Why does it hurt when I pee? by Frank Zappa

Not typically a rock song you'd play at a college dance hall.

thanks for sharing that open-g.........they truly were bizarre (especially for the time period)....had a banjo player too...i think of them as the link to the Velvet Underground........they had one song titled "I Hate You Baby"....how punk is that for '65-'66

What is bizarre about it? It is a pretty simple rock song. Not bad one either IMHO

I like "Come Sail Away". As far as Styx is concerned I think "Mr. Roboto" was more bizzare than "Come Sail Away".

Also a totally bizzare album- William Shatner- "The Tranformed Man" where he does spoken word versions of "Rocket Man", "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and other rock songs.

FrankM.....with the Shatner reference you've reminded me of the Pat Boone cd of Metal cover tunes.........he has a better sense of humour then i would of imagined for a religious dude
