According to polish newspapper "Gazeta Wyborcza" The Rolling Stones will come to Stadion Slaski in Chorzow in May next year (http://wiadomosci.gazeta.pl/wiadomosci/1,53600,3698032.html). The information is confirmed by the Stadium Manager Mr. Marek Szczerbowski.

Already posted ;-) [www.iorr.org]

Hope its true, and I also hope Scandinavia will be early
on the tour... Most often steady, reliable, dry weather
with enough warmth here in late May and early June.

I wonder where the tour will start if Poland is already in May (Scandinavia?Prague?). It should not be far from Poland because no European tour since 1976 has started before late May.

Sater are you happy now ? no Warsaw. in fact Stadion Slaski is the best place for such a big gig, better than any airport

Maybe they want to end this tour as quick as possible (because they're tired, they have other plans etc.) so they will start earlier this time. I would say that tour will start at the end of April in southern Europe (Spain, Italy, maybe Greece). Then in May they will do tour on the continent and in early June they will visit Scandinavia, so they could end European tour in England sowhere in the middle of June. At least these're my predictions.

I don't think so. As the 2006 leg has opened in Southern Europe, the 2nd Euro tour will probably start somewhere else.

If Poland is in late May, they will start probably some days earlier in Middle Europe. Somewhere in Germany or in Prague (I don't think they like Warsaw, sorry). Or Prague rehearsals and first gig in Brno. Or maybe in Scandinavia but isn't it a bit cold in May there? I don't expect a tour start before ca. May 20. The only time they toured in the spring was in 1976, but this was a hall tour.

And if there are 40 shows as rumoured the tour will not end before late August, early September. Consider that there are more days off in between the shows compared with the 1990s tours.

Not necessarily. The European tours in 98, 99 and 03 all started in Germany.
The US tours in 02, 05 and Fall 06 all started in Boston.

The European tour in 95 started in Stockholm on June 3rd, and it was warm. But that is not always the case.

Since they won't have been touring all winter and spring, like this year, I think they actually COULD start before May 20th. Maybe they will start the tour in Barcelona like they were supposed to this year. And then work their way up to Poland. Who knows...

If theyre playing stadiums that scenario is completely unrealistic as the venues they'll need will mostly be unavailable.

I fully expect the tour to run along the same time frame as the one originally scheduled for 2006 - ie, late May to late August

I think this is wishfull thinking from a Scandianavian fan ;-) I was in Stockholm in 1995 by the way, it was hotter than in Germany. But that was an unpredictable exception.

Most European tours have started in Germany or The Netherlands (or nearby Austria in 1973). The 2007 Tour will be the tour with far more Eastern European shows than ever I believe.

It is not likely that they'll start in Moscow (too dangerous) or Warsaw/Poland or Budapest I think, but it will probably happen not too far from Eastern Europe. Starting in Germany (Frankfurt? Hamburg? Dresden?) or Prague (?) seems pretty likely. There are good hotels and cultural infrastructure and it's not far to reach Upper Silesia (or Poland/ Eastern Europe in general) by the end of May. - Anyway, this is wishfull thinking as well ;-)

I guess Barcelona or another city in Spain will get the opening or the end of the tour.

I'm with Gazza on 2007 schedule. This is more realistic. I would also believe that St. Petersburg will figure in the dates.

The end of the tour will, as I understand it, be at Wembley.

Of course, theres the proviso that EVERY Stones European tour announced for about the last 30 years has ended up ending in a different city than was originally planned, as theyve tended to either add or reschedule shows.

That's true.

Licks Europe ended in my hometown, even it was not planned at all.

So we are all only guessing. We don't know if Wembley is ready....

hmmm........... waiting waiting...
