I would prefer a complete concert, or a compilation from, say, July 72. It wouldn't sound right to jump from Little Queenie '69 to Can't Be Seen '90. That would be like having salmon with strawberry-jam.

because its an appalling idea.
Theres enough compilations AND live albums already. The last thing the world needs is a compilation of their live records
Nah, it could be alright if it was done chronologically. One of the discs on the Elvis 70's box was just that, and it works. Still, it probably wouldn't sell, and those who might buy it would be the fans, and we could just burn our favourites. Anyway, a full live boxed set with asy, one concert from every tour, would ba amazing.
The time for Cd live albums are almost over..DVD takes over..and they should release some 75/78 stuff live concerts..Im a little bit angry they dont..do they have to wait till we die? They can keep their..live albums....ya ya s...love you live...were good..cause they were concentrated..on NY 69..or Paris 76...Toronto..so those albums gives you a kind of..Im into the show tonight feeling..later live albums dont do that for you..one goes to Paris and the next song in Japan...it takes away the tension. For that reason among more I go for bootlegs.

Uh..regardless of what it says on the sleeve, the 17 tracks on Love You Live are taken from performances over three different years (75,76,77) and from seven different shows (Toronto 17.6.75, LA 9.7.75, London 27.5.76, Paris 5, 6 & 7.6.76 and Toronto 5.3.77 - and most were then extensively overdubbed and edited afterwards!!
the dead giveaway is the fact that the sleeve suggests that the non-El Mocambo songs come from Paris 1976 - yet 'Sympathy' wasnt played at any of the four Paris shows that year and 'Fingerprint File' was only ever performed in 1975.
Side four..is recorded in Toronto....I thought..I also thought most of side one and two was from Paris..exept Finger....Side three is the best...but the rest sounds like one show..and thats what makes it good..nowadays you hear Jagger talking in Spanish and after that he speaks English...than you know its not one show...In those days when LYL came out ..one was fooled easyly...but hellI was 11 years and so glad..after that I start buying lp boots..but that LYL thing wos great!!And When I play it today I admit I still like it very much..I also love the Sound!

IORR was Maple Leaf Gardens, in 75, Sympathy was LA Forum, 75 (lead vocals re-done in 77)

Yeah I've thought before and talked to fellow fans about the band releasing a box set of live stuff.....one disc from every major tour that doesn't already have a live album...here's what I mean.....
1970 European Tour- using different songs than Ya Ya's. 1972 North American Tour 1973 European Tour 1975 Tour Of The Americas- since there were only 3 songs from this tour on LYL 1978 American Tour 1982 European Tour- using different songs than Still Life.
........and for the smaller tours (1971 English Tour, 1973 Winter Tour) maybe they could do a disc of miscellaneous stuff covering those tours.
