Live studio tracks.

I'm thinking of making an alternate live version of studio CDs. This means that an album like Sticky Fingers would have all the tracks on it. I just need some good versions from live concerts. The first I wanna make is Bridges To Babylon. So I need all the tracks they ever played from this album in the best versions possible. I know that FTS, ASMB, AOM, YDHTMI, OOC, SOM and TITN have been played, but are there more?

(Note: If an entire album haven't been performed I just take the tracks that have been played and settle for that).

Low Down, How Can I Stop, Might As Well Get Juiced has been played in addition to the ones you wrote. All of them at Madison Square Garden 98.

The only tracks from B2B never played live are: Gunface, Always Suffering and Too Tight. Not a bad score overall if you compare it to ABB.

I didnt know that about the MSG 98 show. that must have been a good one to be at.

Yes, they're terrific. So is the Dylan shows from another part of MSG from the same week....one of the concerts at the same day as Stones, actually.

The only 3 songs that havent been peformed are Too Tight, Gunface and Always Suffering

How Can I Stop, Lowdown and Might as well get Juiced were only played once - all of them during the 3 night MSG stand in January 1998. Already Over Me was only played about three times , all in that Jan-Feb 1998 period too (I could look it up to confirm, but I think it was MSG, Portland and the club show in Vegas)

the obvious place to look for live versions is No Security which has about four of them, but failing that theres an absolute corker of a soundboard version of Out of Control from Edmonton which is worth digging out

why oh why did they never bust out too tight? it was made to be played live!

you can't catch me!

Surprising, eh? I think all of those 3 songs would have worked well, live actually.

ABB has 8 all in all. Not too bad me thinks.

Yes. The Stones do country songs beautifully in concert. Absolutely no reason why not. C'mon - just imagine Mick and Keith croakin' the harmonies on the chorus to that one. Cant understand the widespread dislike for that song. I think it's a beaut.

We'll agree to differ there. Over 100 shows into a tour, I personally think its lamentable that its so low...especially as (to paraphrase Keith's words) the album is made for playing live.

And at the current rate of two songs per night, it doesnt indicate that there'll be many more before next summer. A waste.

Hahaha. A few things everybody has to take when The Stones makes a new album is that it is always the new Exile and all the songs are always "tailormade" for playing live. I still think we'll get She Saw Me Coming sometime later.

Not really. On past tours theyve simply played more new songs in concert on a nightly basis. So, it was a reasonable assumption to have expected more than 8 songs by this stage as in the past theyve generally kept to that intention of playing much of their new record

So....... something new. They never did this "New album, but many hits" type before. :-D

Gotta sign off. Bye bye...

On the other hand on average B2B tour they did 22-23 songs wich gave more space for new songs.

Just a little! Most of this tour has been 20-21 songs so its only since August its gone down to 19 or less

Yes but at the beginning of this tour they did 4 new songs, which wasn't that bad comparing to the beginning of B2B tour when they did only 2 new songs.

From A Bigger Bang they played:

-Rough Justice
-It Won't Take Long
-Rain Fall Down
-Streets Of Love
-Back Of My Hand
-This Place Is Empty
-Oh No Not You Again
-Infamy

So they played 50%, though some of the live-performed numbers were just played a few times.
