OK . . . no replies, so I guess no one reading this board was paying attention to Costello's set on Wednesday. Maybe everyone was keeping warm before taking their seats for the Stones. But it must have felt kinda nice to hear this rarely played Flowers/Aftermath tune.
Wonder how Elvis stood up to an expectant Stones crowd? I've been a fan of him for years....ever since the first album....which is almost as long as I've been a fan of Los Rollings (as they are known in Spain) ;-)
...and he's probably the only one of his generation that will still be making great music in his 60's....and probably longer.....his young wife should keep him going (I foresee future Costello albums much like Dylan's recent efforts)

yes it was excellent!
As for Elvis' Stones cover in Chicago - did the audience know the song?

Still one of the greatest lyricists that ever lived

just saw him the other night with the band...and would agree with Gazza, but would add "fabulous" as well.....
Not too many people seemed to recognize it. Due to the weather, most people did not filter down to their seats until Elvis left. He ended the song (and the set)with a long "take it, or leave it" sing along which got a bit tiresome. Otherwise, it was a solid performance, and I was glad he opened.
