from nick,
has there been any news regarding a live dvd from this tour, it has gone on a very long time and usually we would hear something by now, i know everyone here is not crazy about them releasing live cds, but to have one with bitch, all down the line, sway, as tears go by, and the new songs would be cool, but does anyone have any info, thanks

A two disc live cd, doing an entire show (but perhaps from different shows to get the best versions) would be great, so you can listen to the whole show, but not so sure it will happen. Im sure we'll get at least a dvd of copacabana or the beacon show.

from nick,
its not like rio is bad, but if they release that show, hopefully they will have another show with more rarities, another four flicks would be cool, but i doubt they would repeat that, i really wish they would put out a great live version of bitch, i know it is an extra on the four flicks dvds, but i wish they would finally include it on a live cd

I thought Rio was sub par at best.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, Martin Scorsese is filming the Beacon shows for a DVD release.

Yes, it would be great to get a Christmas release, but with Scorsese involved, I doubt if it will be that quick.

According to Nico Zentgraf:

060731A 31st July: Amsterdam, Holland, ArenA
(Jumping Jack Flash/...Satisfaction)
Note: The whole show was professionally filmed for a future DVD-release.

hey gecko, thanks for the info, according to that website, july 31st and august 3 were professionally recorded, also do you think the scorsese thing will be a live concert dvd or more of a behind the scenes documentary, i hate those things that don't show songs in full, or they talk over parts of the song, i like my concert dvds complete, save the commentary for bonus footage, again thanks for the reply

No chance. Nor "No Direction Home" either.

I have to wonder about this Scorsese thing. On www.imdb.com, theres no mention of it when you look up the filmography under Scorsese's name. Usually they have planned and rumoured future projects listed as well as officially released work (they have listings for him up to 2008)

Talking of which, whatever happened to that project he was supposed to be undertaking with Jagger, "THe Long Play". No mention of that.

The fact that its supposed to be centred around the Clinton gala concert - of all Stones shows to pick - would suggest to me that the actual Stones performance wouldnt be the central part of the documentary
