Yes I did....three weeks ago......and for us Stones fans he did a medley of: Jumping Jack Flash, Papa Was A Rolling Stone, and Paint It Black......it was incredible.....all morphed together seemlessly. (He also did a country version of Wild Horses earlier in the show)

Oh cool man. Musta missed the review. That's one guy I never have caught live. In fact I can't remember the last time I remember him playin in the bay area. Come on out Leon. Ya got some west coast fans.

sweetcharmer, here's Leon's touring schedule:

[www.leonrussellrecords.com]

It looks like he may be out your way in June.......I encourage you to see him soon. As you can see from the schedule, he plays small venues and loves it. His tickets are in the $20-$35 range. His recent shows have been rock and roll, though he has dabbled heavily in country music in the past.

Thanks Lukester. But what a pissa. I don't think any of those Ca. dates are within 200 miles of me. That's what I mean. We are fortunate enough out here to get just about every major act as well as the smaller ones. There are a lot of great venues around here. But I can't remember the last time I've heard of leon Russel playing anywhere around San Francisco.

That most despised of all Rolling Stones records "No Stone Unturned" - and it's great (the second LP I ever bought with the Stones - and it turned out to be b-sides - wouldn't you just know it.....)

.....Its the ultimate heavy rock song
While plowin'thru'the juicy splashin'snow along our main road
earlier today I picked a track I had saved for better occasions;
its the goddam heaviest piece of rock music I have ever heard.'nuff said.

[zenearuhaz.t-online.hu] NOTE: Ya have to clock on track no 6

"Átok és ígéret" (snippet) = Curses & Pledge (from the Ómen album, 1984)
...After the Jon Lord-ish Bach-intro the metalists roll in like a bleedin' overloaded
bezerkin' steamroller & then it gets only worse - crank!!

...Feel free to ask me if ya interested in a longer sample!

A drunk guy in the alley behind my apartment singing Eye of the Tiger at the top of his lungs. Seriously. This is either a sign of the apocalypse or a sign that I should go to bed immediately. I'm going to say its the later. Night, all.
