I hope the Stones change up the opening songs a bit, i would love to see Street Fighting Man as an Opening song, now that Song Kicks ASS!!! any others?

PIB seems to slow, not enough pizzaz...its amazing right after sympathy...creepy, one two punch, well start me up's too obvious, but still good, but what was really amazing was...


JUMPIN JACK FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!! i know we got it alot already, but its still great,and they havnt used it since the small 1999 tour, it seems a waste on the b-stage, even if it does cook like a #$*(%&(&&(^, deserves the main stage though

Street Fighting Man'd be amazing, but T.Dice and HTW..are a bit slow...and it needs to be a warhorse to get the folks going! ADTL and RO are great tunes but belong later in the set....the stones need something to really get hte crowd AND THEMSELVES rarin to go!

rough justice? why not it aint a warhorse yet and probably will be but why not start out with it. surely a war horse doesnt have to start the show?
however i would love to hear cant you hear me knockin played as the opener. i honestly think it is the best riff that keith ever stole from chuck berry. i will eat a hat if they ever play that again as it would be to much like the licks tour. that song and dont stop defined the licks tour

Influenced and stolen are two different things.I have never heard Chuck Berry play anything that sounded close to the opening of CYHMK.

MICK_JAGGER i couldnt have said it better.....nicely said...PIB too slow...i hope they change it at least for my show, the dodger stadium show.

interesting - nice to see a changeup - but based on a few eyewitness accounts, perhaps PIB didn't work so well in the opening slot. should be interesting to see if it holds down this spot going-forward. I'll bet it doesn't....Jagger's very sensitive about the "vibe" for those first few tunes....

I would like to see a stage lit with swirling red lights. Then start the show with "Have You Seen Your Mother Baby? Now that would be cool.

I think PIB is a good choice for an opener as well.

ONNYA needs the axe. With so many other songs drop this one.

Rough Justice sounded great live at first but now it just totally drags. They should replace it with a different new song.

Mother's Little Helper would be a great opener if they could ever pull it off live.

I think PIB is a brilliant opener...Keith walks out in a red spotlight with that killer twangy lick...pause... and Charlie beats it down! What better way to start a show

BITCH would be a fine opener, it rocks. MOTHER's LITTLE HELPER would be a @#$%& shocker, or STREET FIGHTING MAN. PAINT IT BLACK is a good choice, but if we have to hear START ME UP at all, I like it best as the opener. SMU is the best opener but it's overplayed.
IMO

If I could pick & choose an opener, I'd go for Hot Stuff...if Jagger did the rap at the end.
Others....If You Can't Rock Me or One Hit.

Not necessarily. Not Fade Away isn't a warhorse and it worked well for VL tour in my opinion.

Well yes, alot of songs can work well for an opener, however, certain songs dont work AS WELL as others, like..i doubt Not Fade Away gathers as much energy and power as JJF or Start me Up, (dont get me wrong, i LOVE not fade away as a song and opener...fantastic on the VL dvd)

Warhorses work BETTER than non warhorses, but they should switch it up between, JJF, Start Me up, Satisfaction, Brown Sugar, Rough Justice, Street Fighting Man

Midnight Rambler would be AWESOME opener, but i wouldnt want them to sacrifice the length or any jamming, so mabye it's safer down where it is now

Oh and dont forget....the Stones USUALLY like open with "white lights" peter woodruff the lighting director calls it "the stones signature look" start me up...JJF...SFM..satisfaction..PIB etc, all white lighters (the only exceptions are brown sugar, and not fade away as openers)

No.They were used during Start Me Up and Sympathy - same as before,just later in the show.
