Keith's guitar setups

Anyone has any info of Keith's Telecasters setup?
actions, relief and so...?

I don't have any inside info but the actions can be seen to be of a medium setting. For open G I believe strings go from around 13 to 42 or so in gauge. Sort of the equivalent of using 11s on standard tuned six string.
I would further guess that Keith has his necks set up with just a tad of relief ...because with the cleanish sound he favours these days..you don't want too many rattles and buzzes. All just guessing I'm afraid though ;^).

I would volunteer to inspect Keiths Telecasters.
I'd write a report about how the action, relief and string gauges are.
also the overall instrument handling.
Then I'd suggest you guys to inspect & backup & reasure my report, just in case I forgot something.
wouldn't that be nice of me? winking smiley

I read somewhere that the gauges for the open-g tuned telecasters are .011, .015, .018, .030, .042

what's .018p? I understand that .018 is the gauge but what does the p mean?

I think it stands for plain.
0.18 gauge can also come as a wound string, I guess

that`s right.
he uses that ernie ball set , which is sadly not available for the general public.
but you can create them , by buying those strings seperately

I wonder if the 0.22 is a bit too beefy

be carefull with that 054 and 042 string. it might be to strong for a tele saddle and you will probably not be able to play the normal 042/046 and 032/036 any longer ,because the saddle will be to wide for this kind of strings.
