The Doors live at the Aquaris Theater, 1st and 2nd shows...

Doors fans need to pick this up, they sell it on their site and they are great quality shows, similiar to the Dick's Picks series the Dead put out.

Erik,

I don't like country as a whole, however, occasionally a song or two makes it thru, but here up north that cowboy hat and belt buckle shit looks gay. But there are a lot of fans up here too.

There's stinkers in both rock, country, pop and everything. I know which kinds of country people you're thinking of...and they're lousy. But it's not country, it's just crap hidden under a cowboy hat.
But, for instance Far Away EYes and We Had It All are country songs. There's so many different ways of doing country.

Mine came from Keith's site. I had a look at Amazon UK where there's only record-collectors' copies at Enormous Expense, and decided that if I was going to have to import it from the US I might as well go straight to the source. Arrived in about a fortnight, no problem.

Nice interview with Keith about the Wingless Angels project here:

A little bio for ya to digest:

Artist Information

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Montreal's Leonard Cohen was a well-respected poet and novelist before he ever entered the songwriting fray in the 1960s. His dark, poetic vision rivaled that of Dylan, and his songs inspired countless cover versions, by everyone from Judy Collins to Nick Cave. Over the years, he honed his craft to a razor's edge, his passion always expertly undercut by a biting sense of black humor. His early recordings were largely acoustic affairs, but by the end of the 1980s he had reinvented his sound, successfully incorporating synthesizers and contemporary production techniques while still sounding very much like himself (and gaining a new generation of followers in the process).

Check out a cd called "The Future" I think you would dig it.

Suzanne, Chelsea Hotel #2, First We Take Manhattan,...

Not a mainstream musician but very well known in the 60's and 70's. Was also on the bill at the Isle of Wight festival.

The Future CD has been featured in some movie soundtracks. That's how I got turned on to it.

Don't forget when listening to the Future CD to have some skinless boneless sardines in olive oil and good hunk of Italian bread to slobber em down brother.

Are ya serious folks, ya donnow Cohen??
I thought he was up there among the Recognized Classics?

Now I understand why he's never mentioned here.

My proposal: Start yer new Cohen-life with
his first album Song Of Leonard Cohen (1967)
or Songs Of Love And Hate (1971). Forget the
later mumbojumbo mainstream-productions!!
