What Was The Last Music You Acquired?

A different take on Cindy's Mega-Thread. What was the last buy you made for albums? And since the Q reads "acquired" I guess downloads should count too. I just came from the CDstore where I have a omni-constant pile going that I always add to; everytime I get money and make it over there I pick up a stack, and throw some more down, or order imports. Cool owners..
I got
"So Alone" - Johnny Thunders
"I'm Not Afraid Of You And Will Beat Your Ass" - Yo La Tengo (New one and GREAT!)
"Modern Times" - Bob Dylan
"Lil Beethoven" - Sparks
"Lullabies And Violaines" - Cocteau Twins
"The Steel Wheels Sessions" - Stones, brandnew from Sister Morphine
"TSOOL Origin Vol 1" - The Soundtrack of our Lives
"Takk" - Sigur Ros
"Sketches Of Spain" - Miles Davis
"The Black Light" - Calexico
"Presence" - Led Zeppelin
"A German Requiem" - Brahms

Last Download was "I knew you were waiting" by Aretha

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

always downloading/burning new stuff from the various bit torrent sites.

most recent buys were Dylan's new one and Ray LaMontagne's new one. The latter is fabulous, possibly as good as his debut, which was the best album of 2004, IMO.....

I will get you some info on TSOOL.
Cool dudes, friend of mine had a real wet nite with a
heavy sauna-session with' em.
I was a bit disappointed at the Origin-album...
But you know they have a new album out.

My last acquired music is Gasolin's Black Box, nine beautiful albums.
By a Divine random, TSSOL have several members that loves Gasolin' real real deep.

Arrived in the mail today: R.E.M. - And I Feel Fine (Best of IRS Years) Can't wait to see how the remastering sounds.

Over the last few weeks:

New Primal Scream (which is excellent)
Love - 1st Album & Da Capo (mono/stereo imports)
Jimmy Smith - Best Of and some other '60s jazz.

And a box of CDs my old roomate left behind (on purpose), including the best of Jonathan Richman, a lot of classical, Nick Cave, & Sinatra, and some Christmas stuff. Not to mention a ton of late-era Sinead O'Connor and a bunch of New Agey crap which will be traded in at my nearest independent record store for maybe, like, a dollar if I'm lucky.

The companion R.E.M. DVD and the original '77 cut of Star Wars just arrived via amazon as well! Han shoots first!

I haven't bought any music in a while.

I'm still enjoying a big bunch o bootlegs courtesy of our man, Mr. Snow. I also recent acquired the new Primal Scream which I haven't yet listened to. I don't like to listen to many new things at once. I like to completely devour one before I move to the next. Otherwise it doesn't infiltrate my empty heart.

I'm only getting rid of the Sinead and the new age stuff, bro!

Gonna keep the classical around so the ladies think I'm cultured.

Juan, I'm afraid people from the North Shore have no culture. You should just accept that fact the way I did.

Chelsea asked about TSOOL.....

Recent tv-clip Endless Song [tv4.se] with TSOOL

.....Made me fingerslinger away a (well, a little) minor essay,
got to get in touch with the back ground why TSOOL is such a great band
(there are some more reasons more than they are neighbors to Mickijaggeroo)

" Why Göteborg music scene wipes the floor with Stockholm's "

In the beginning there was the political music, mainly Nationalteatern and Nynningen.
Worth a mass in itself. While Stockholm featured hard-to-beat John Holm (but
after the first three album he appeared not to have so much juice left) and Rolf Wikström
Nationalteaterns solo project the (late) rootsy dude Totta
and his Tottas Blues Band – did not so few cooperations studio and live projects
with Mick Taylor and the always interesting Ulf Dageby.
Another band, Ensamma Hjärtan, covered
The Dirty Dogs (or in Swedish: De Smutsiga Hundarna)

The late 70s came with hot punk rock as Attentat and The Leather Nun.
Still a big lead for Stockholm with Dag Vag and Ebba Grön.
The punk movement were twice or hundreds as shockin
and smashed most of the dusty, dull, tired, trad rock off the ground.
80s: Now things were a-happening. Sator Codex with Freddie Wadling
as singer and dark minded brain hammered out strange tunes.
At the same time, along a more traditional yet very powerful line,
we heard Sky High, originally from Dalecarlia…
Soon they were followed by Sator (not to be confused with Sator Codex).
On the rhythmic side we could enjoy Stonefunkers & Papa Dee.

90s: The birth of Union Carbide, chaotic heavy rock and the ’more than embryonic form
of proto-TSOOL. At the same time Broder Daniel struck us all with smokin’ punkish rock,
still with many anchors back to the 60s.
A clean rock concept. From their suicidal gloomyness.
TSSOLs global saga as a Great Band was to be seen the years around 2000.
More about them later.

All along the way we have had Freddie Wadling, the Dark Underground
King, the Master of Insanity and Splatter Movies.
His voice is from another world.
Sample w/Frida Snell [www.yousendit.com]

Synthesis: Stovckholm went for a knock-out victory,
but Göteborg win on points.
