I was at the Twickenham 20 aug gig I thought Keith looked very fragile I kept watching him it wasn't the old confident Keith, and I noticed from my position on the east side (I was in the disabled section so got a good veiw )Blondie Chaplin was playing a lot of guitar couldn't work out exactlly what or who he was covering I have about 10 of the crrent tour dvds and hadn't noticed him before, also I was too far away in 2003 Twickenham so if he was playing then I don't know.Anybody got any comments or answers

More important is WHY is Blondie playing guitar???????
You can find him on the Four Flicks DVD so he's been there awhile.

All true Beely, I hate to say it Keith is'nt looking that well right now. I think i heard someone like letitloose ranting about the hat he whore in Glasgow, like it was more important then how Keith played that night,he basically did'nt give a shi*, what he played,it was just sooooooooooooo bitchen because he never has worn a hat before. Now how demented is that, some people man, idon't get it?

as far as i'm concerned 'Blondie Chaplin' should be like 'Charle Chaplin' and not be heard at all!

Blondie Chaplin has been with the Stones (and with Keith) since Keith's "Wingless Angels" album. Blondie is on that.
I suggest that you Google Blondie and you'll see that he has a long career and he has a new album coming out as well.
He's far too often overlooked, the boy can really play guitar!

Blondie is a versatile multi instrumentalist, but imo he's along for Keith's need for compadres unless I'm missing something, because Bernard & Lisa certainly can sing up a storm on their own. But as other threads have detailed Blondie Chaplin has a long and very cool musical background & has been involved in lots of great records, & did some supperb work with R. Fataar in the Beach Boys '72-73 all the way up to Hubert Sumlin's latest. Remarks re Keith not what was said about London so I hope it's an off night tho problems w/ post-op issues certainly are possible. Lets hope for all Stones to be well

I'm surprised more folks haven't noticed the three guitar parts on recent live versions of JJF. They sound great to me...so what's the problem ?

Of course I can be mistaken, (although sometimes these days you can better say nothing out here than make a mistake: jeez, I just read the Glasgow-thread, featuring a flipping Stonesfrk...pretty dark...) but I thought that in the Amsterdam ArenA Blondie also joined in on Satisfaction, on the main riff.
Whether he did, does, or did not, it sure would give Keith some opportunity to fool around, do a little lick here and a little lick there. As stated above: maybe they can achieve more easily the denser sounds (as in: more guitars) on some of the studiorecordings.

Excuse me, but I didnt "rant" about the fact Keith wore a cap. It was merely an observation. I've never seen him wear one on stage before. I thought it was worth mentioning. Were you at the gig? Id like to know! Oh and I thought Keith looked and sounded fantastic. Check your facts before you have a go at me in future.

The issue is'nt how GOOD a guitarist Blondie is . He could play like Hendrix for all I care, the issue is WHY is he backing up Keith and Ronnie? Btw, I actually have no problem with him yawning smiley)

I'm okay with that. Why they need him. Is it really rock'n'roll attitude. You can't play the guitar hero and have a double who plays when you can't or posing for professional photographers or making the "rigolo".
AND WHY THIS GUY IS HIDDEN. IT IS NOT CORRECT FOR THE CROWD. Perhaps they can't hear him but there is no respect to hide a musician. Mick has the backing vocals to help him. Keith and ron have Blondie chaplin now. What is the next step. A drum box hidden behind the stage. I love the stones since so many years but I cannot admit that. I prefer they be true. Perhaps with wrong chords sometimes but alive. That and cheaper tickets too. That was the reason I didn't seen them for the first time since 1982. Voila! and now I'm okay to read "yeah if you don't like the stones, go to buy next britney... and blah blah blah. Not the same sermon each time. But always happy to read the serious theads and happy to read good jokes too. Have a good day!

.........as a Rolling Stones 'purist'. I find it horrible that B. plays guitar onstage along with Keith/Ronnie........no need for it,really.
