...according to the 'Sticky Fingers' newsletter.

Too bad the English press gave them such a mean-spirited send-off.

I hope the shows weren't TOO poorly attended.

It looked pretty sokld out to me tonight too.

Will these be the last London shows? Surely they'd want to end with a bang instead of a whimper. Or maybe this is the Bang? Who knows? Charlie isn't touring after this, that's for sure. He's said as much.

The English press was nice to the boys last time. This toime they have to be right pratts. full Stop.

We'll see what they say tomorrow. Perhaps one of the reasons the boys were so on fire tonight was to prove themselves.

just from yesterday -
full article [www.iorr.org]

"Charlie never once considered giving up his place on the Stones' drum stool.

He said: "Why did I keep on playing with the band? It's all I know. What else was I going to do? Mick and Keith were writing songs for our album, A Bigger Bang. Mick would ring each week to see how I was getting on and say, 'Whenever you're ready, give us a call.'"

Eventually, I said, 'I'll come next week.' Then it was a worry to see if I could do it. I didn't know if I could still play."

"I didn't want to retire. I always think you get a bit older when you retire, not that I'm not old now."
"

where do you people come up with this stuff..bullocks! tell me once where he's said this at all this entire tour...i'm "so sick and tired" of all this gloom and doom, one 'em could drop dead tomorrow, but there is no planned farewell or "retirement" in the foreseeable future

It is rumoured that Charlie said he did not want to do any more never ending world tours.

He did Not say he was quitting and not going to play with the stones any more.

"It is rumoured that Charlie said he did not want to do any more never ending world tours."

Iron Maiden has been doing 3 month world tours since the 1999 reunion. Usually alternating between a nostalgia tour and a new album tour. Don't see why the same wouldn't work for the Stones.

they didnt. Check the reviews of Rocks Off. They seemed pretty good apart from the Evening Standard and Daily Mail
