wow! lots of interest in this thread. i might be leaning towards not going this fall, but it really would be nice for those of us(and there are many) who have seen more than a few shows to know for sure that we are not going to see the same base 12 songs and maybe a few changes...

I can't believe that Biggest Mistake wasn't played so far, is their current single for god's sake! They need to play this song in UK, the single is out the next morning and BBC Radio 2 is supporting the song.
Chuck Leavell comes up with each set list and Jagger approves it or makes changes. Email Chuckles at [www.chuckleavell.com] and encourage Mr. Keyboard Save A Tree Guy to come up with something different for a change.

"In the past they were usually good about making sure they didn't repeat songs from tour to tour, not anymore. Look at the differences from 75 to 78 and then to 81. Every tour they changed it up quite a bit the next time they came around."
Usually between each tour they put out several live albums. Also back then they were still a band, not a virtual corporation. "Classic Rock" had yet to enter the popular vernacular and "oldies" meant pre-Beatles rock songs. Actually 1981 is when they first started turning into a "classic rock" band, I think the longer sets and all the old songs were a reaction to the Some Girls songs not always going over well in 1978 not to mention all the "setlist whiners" in the press at the time.
I think we will get a few different songs like Street Fighting Man and Gimme Shelter in heavier rotation and maybe a different older song like The Last Time or Its All Over Now both of which were apparently on the short list to get added to the set back in January.

he would say that. however, they have 20 days between Horsens and Boston and for at least a third of that time Keith will be on a movie set. add in the fact that the band will want some holiday/family time and Mick's statement simply doesnt add up
They rehearsed a few different songs in Milan prior to the European tour's start, but they havent exactly played too many of them so far
All good ideas. I would love, as others have posted, so hear some Chuck Berry covers. I have never heard them play these live and they are all so great.
Carol Little Queenie Let It Rock Bye Bye Johhny Sweet Little Sixteen Talkin'About You
Any of these and I would loose my mind. They would be great on the Bstage.
But someone mentioned they don't do Chuck anymore because he wants high royalties or something?

Chuck made some disparing comments about the Stones during the Johnnie Johnson lawsuit. Remember, when the Stones play a Chuck Berry song the person it benefits most is Chuck so I can see why they wouldn't want to promote that material. Which sucks, I think the AC/DC guest spot would have worked a lot better during Carol or Little Queenie than Rock Me Baby.

that was for using songs on shows that were being broadcast
"You cant catch me" is conspicious by its omission from that list. IMO the best of all their Berry covers and one of the few that theyve never played live. What I'd give to hear that on the b-stage just once.

Let's face it , the vast majority of people attending ABB Tour are Fans like you and me. Being fans we are familiar with all their music and have listened to all the "classics" on record and in concert therefore at this late stage of their career it would be great for everyone if they would play songs for their fans a la all previous post on this topic. My own favourites would include Out of Time , Coming Down Again, Winter, We Love You, I Don't Know Why, Let It Loose , Connection, Stray Cat Blues, Moonlight Mile,Stupid Girl etc etc I am sure no one would complain about ticket prices if the set list was of this calibre ? Roll on Hampden Park Glasgow next Friday , Hope the rain goes off by then !!

for 12, make it 15. Thats how many songs have been played at EVERY European show so far, out of a 20-song per night setlist.
And #16 is Keith's other song, which is nearly always Slipping Away. So there are really only four chances to be surprised in a 20 song setlist, which is pretty sad in my opinion.
1.Honky Tonk Women 2.If You Can't Rock Me 3.Oh No, Not You Again 4.Rough Justice 5.Moonlight Mile 6.Sway 7.Under My Thumb 8.When The Whip Comes Down 9.Street Fighting Man(Introductions) 10.Infamy(Keith) 11.Before They Make Me Run(Keith) 12.Miss You(To B-Stage) 13.She Saw Me Coming(B-Stage) 14.She's So Cold(B-Stage) 15.Midnight Rambler(Back To Main Stage) 16.Out Of Control 17.Start Me Up 18.Brown Sugar 19.Satisfaction "ENCORE" 20.Gimme Shelter 21.Jumpin' Jack Flash
"It's Good To Be Here, It's Good To Be Anywhere"-Keith Richards
"Halloween Is Every Night Of My Life"-Keith Richards

Now that's a great setlist, and there are more than enough hits on there to keep the average fan happy.

The set lists didn't only vary from tour to tour in the '70's and early '80's.Compare 1994 to 1997 to 1999 etc..

As Gazza has pointed out many times, in the '70s they were still playing a lot of songs that were new or only a few years old, so they really didn't need to change the setlist. The songs hadn't been driven into the ground yet at that point. And the setlist was substantially different from tour to tour, unlike now.
I don't disagree with that.I'm just saying that they still made different set lists for different tours up until this tour where they have heavily relied on songs that were already played frequently on recent tours. The set lists, for the most part, seem to get worse as tours progress. One exception was 1995.

I think Biggest Mistake is going to be played in UK, at least in London and maybe Glasgow as BBC is going to broadcast this show. well, we will see.
Wishful thinking. Sad to say, the boys are on cruise control when it comes to their set lists. They could take a page from Springsteen's touring formula. Mix it up every night to keep it fresh from shoe to show.
This should be the opening night set list for Boston
1. Oh No, Not You Again 2. Honky Tonk Woman 3. It's Only Rock 'n Roll 4. Gimme Shelter 5. Streets of Love 6. Memory Motel 7. Tumbling Dice 8. Saint Of Me 9. Out Of Time 10. Satisfaction Intros 11. Coming Down Again 12. Little T & A 13. Start Me Up 14. Beast of Burden 15. She Saw Me Coming (to b-stage) 16. Carol (b-stage) 17. I Go Wild (b-stage) 18. Brown Sugar (to main stage) 19. Sympathy For The Devil 20. Jumpin Jack Flash Encore 21. Midnight Rambler
Pretty good although Memory Motel in Boston + Foxboro has been done enough and I would prefer something other than Saint Of Me to represent Bridges.I miss Street Fighting Man.That's one example of a song that still sounds great live.
Sluissie, Thank you for your words. I agree that Streets Of Love could perfectly be in the main stage and She Saw Me Coming in the B Stage.
I know my set list is a dream and they will continue playing in a asimilar show conception than they are doing now. But, I'm sure every fan would like some more exciting, new and refreshing set list. My intention was not to guess what they will play, but to express what kind of set list I would like to see. I'm sure all of you will have your own list
I'm thinking also if there is some way we, the fans, could make them aware of what we really would like to hear. Why not to propose some special concerts for fans in each world region with a complete different set list?
