I remember being in an internet cafe in Amsterdam in 2003 and reading on this site about the concert cancellation a few hours before it was due to start.

I'm sad for the good people of Spain it seems they are again missing out.

We were at the Porto concert.
Mick wasn't goodlooking at all, you saw he wasn't feeling well, compared to the show in Nice.(on the second row it is easy to see)
He didn't run on the catwalk in the middle, what he normally does 2 or 3 times a show. His singing was ok, but you could see it costed him a lot more trouble as normally.
Don't forget it was about 38 C,no wind at all, and all that airco in your hotel. Terrible. (happy to be back in Belgium)

So you can be 100% sure that Mick is really sick.

I hope my pictures are sharp enough to prove it, but our baggage got lost on our flight home (I hope it will be recovered), then I'll post some pics of the show.

I am afraid some people here will strongly disagree with me but I think maybe Stones should stop touring.It's becoming more and more embarrassing.Unfortunately it has to do a lot with their age.I read that Mick had severe flu when they started 78 tour but went on stage despite doctors orders not to.Today it's impossible and I'm not saying it is Mick's fault.They are simply too old for this.Constant travelling, climate changes etc. are not doing them any good.

Sorry for all the folks who will not see them this year.

It´s a bad summer for the fans.

If lyryngitis is the reason then it´s just bad luck. You
can´t blame Mick. It´s disappointing as hell, though.

Mick be well - yesterday I was thinking about Amsterdam 2003 and when they had to postpone second show which was going to be broadcasted live on TV for Mick's flu & I hoped it's not going to happen this tour - poor Mick, but he's going to be alright.

28 yrs ago he may not have realised how much long term damage can be done by singing with throat problems.
He I assume also did not want to let the fans down.

Nowadays people are a lot better informed on what is ok and what is simply a stupid thing to do.

Singing or attempting to sing with Laryngitis is definately a no no.
If he does that then there may be no more shows for the rest of the year.

We will just have to hope He is soon feeling A1 again.

"The Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang tour will continue as scheduled at London's Twickenham Stadium on Sunday, followed by shows in Glasgow, Sheffield and Cardiff."

Seems that both Spanish shows are cancelled. Really sad...

but BBC might care only about UK shows only to keep Uk fans informed. El Ejido is still on according to latest news, right?

When I think about how Mick has to feel - he has to feel horrible. They already had to cancel two shows and now Valladolid in the day of it. He's sick & he has to take care, sure he has best medical care around him - but he has to feel sad for sure, well it wasn't easy for him for sure.

Mick should try gargling some George Dickel, white label. Good for what ails you.

Bollocks. The Stones have invented phoney excuses for cancelling shows on numerous occasions, so its easy to be cynical at times of their motives. Personally, I've no doubt as to the validity of this one, however. Seems genuine enough. Understandable frustration for the fans in Spain who have lost 3 shows this summer and will possibly lose a 4th

Shit happens. I remember when I was in California 99 to see four shows of the No Security tour. At the end I was happy to see two excellent shows in Oakland and Sacramento with 3 world premieres.

After Barcelona that's really bad for our spanisch friends (a friend of mine from Germany is also there. His Barcelona show got cancelled so he wanted to see at least one show in Spain...)

Mmm... not exactly that easy at the height of the tourist season to get cheap flights and available hotels at short notice, not to mention getting tickets for shows that in some cases are sold out as well as the fact that the tour is due to end in 8 shows time and all the remaining gigs are in the UK or Scandinavia

Not everyone has money to burn and no commitments, unfortunately.

if mick's ill i believe it 100 %. he's the one who cares the most about his health. he won't cancel a gig just for fun - never. so it must be really serious. for the fans in spain it's really bad and it's maybe getting worse if the next one will be cancelled. but on the other hand the alternative could be play El Ejido and risk numerous shows in the uk and the last two.

When you search a little bit, you'll always find a flight at a reasonable price. Europe is not that big, you can go to lots of places by car.
You can always find tix at the entrance.
However, it is very sad for the Spanish fans to lose their concerts.
But, cheer up, this is one more reason for the boys to come back next year.

Mick's voice was off (like a few pitches too low) on about 4 songs in Porto. At first it seemed it could've been technical (like a problem with his earpiece), but if it was technical it surely would have been fixed sooner.

Sad for the fans who were to attend. Hope Mick recovers quickly!

I just read the news and I can´t tell you how sorry I am that this happened after Porto! As I have written earlier in my Porto review, during Midnight Rambler he was singing so great and acting so very wild, I have never seen him doing that song in such an unbelievable way! Maybe he just overdid it to the extent that afterwords his voice was gone, because during his performance we could not notice anything. He was awesome! I am so sorry for all the fans in Valladolid, but I am sure the reason for the cancellation is true.

a bit off topic but while you're listening to opening night o B2B Tour - Nuerenberg - you can clearly hear the moment Mick is starting to have voice problems. At the end of the show he's singing just as much as neccesary and not really loud.

Fingers crossed for the folks in Almeria, then. But as Keith II says, it gives greater hope for shows next year. I cant honestly see the Stones leaving their Spanish fans - a country where their ticket sales were so good this year - with one show or even none at all

Just talked with a friend of mine who is in valladolid - she says it's small town (El Ejido is small as well) so today it was surrounded by Stonesfans wherever you would go, so most definately it was the greatest thing which could happen in this town's history...let's hope for El Ejido. As well as 2007. El Ejido is small place, nothing like Barca or Madrid. You better start saving your money as quick as you run out of them in UK, bergen and Horsens
