The names that you mentioned above are great drummers, except for the last one Kenney Jones. He is not a good drummer at all, very sloppy. Thats why The Who didnt want him back. Basically because he sucked.

Now has anyone heard Phil Collins and some of his stuff from a Jazz Fusion band he used to play in years ago. INCREDIBLE.

Right you are, I forgot about Collins. As a matter of fact, people might valuate him more, if he had stayed on drums.

For technical ability no one beats Billy Cobham. He's a drummers drummer. Some top drummers top their own different catagories. Peart, Bonham, Steve Gadd, Moon top my fav list. But it goes on and on.

and that sweet earnest face when he got to sing 'barbara ann' his precious surf music...like those pounding waves of energy with unbelievable, immeasurable force that have killed and saved many a surfer, and seaman...it all makes it's own sense kinda...he was a force of nature. all hail. hats off. hand on heart.
Keith Moon."

Hey Beely,
I saw that documentary too. Keith loved that beach music. Have you ever listened to Keith's solo album, "The Other Side Of The Moon?" Great album. He does his own version of the song The Kids Are All Right, which I consider kind of like beach music. btw, I liked your description of his "possibly physically impossible" drumming. Keep 'em coming, beely. How's the neighbor's horse by the way?

Thanks beely....I've read excerpts from a horse whisperer book that were similar to your description of listening to those knuckleheads. I own a horse for my oldest daughter...but I don't enjoy them like you do...Thanks.

John Bonham just thumped......he wouldn't have been able to swing if he was hanging from a tree.
Charlie can swing.
