It's been discuseed on Rocks Off, so I thought i'd bring it here to this fine board.

Oasis are to release a best of titled Stop The Clocks in November this year. Here is the track-listing...

D'You Know What I Mean?
All Around The World

The Importance Of Being Idle
Masterplan
Half The World Away
Acquiesce
Champagne Supernova
Rock 'n' Roll Star
Supersonic
Wonderwall
Whatever
Boy With The Blues (new track)
Stop The Clocks (new track)

'Wibbling Rivalry" is my favorite Oasis album.

Terrible track listing for a "Greatest Hits". Where the F**k is "Live forever". Also no "Roll with it" or "Stand by me"...

I thought Oasis were a one-hit wonder band? Wonderwall....and then you never heard about them again.

I agree about Live Forever, but this is meant to be a Best Of and not a hits package, hence the inclusion of several b-sides. Below are the Oasis singles, which didn’t make it. Admittedly, there are a few surprises!

Shakermaker, Cigarettes And Alcohol, Live Forever, Roll With It, Stand By Me, Who Feels Love, Sunday Morning Call, Little By Little, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Songbird and Let There Be Love.

I would definitely have expected Live Forever and Cigarettes and Alcohol. Rock N Roll Star should be swapped for one of them. Non single Champagne Supernova is rightfully on there, as well as should have been A side Acquiesce. I would also drop Half The World Away.

I'm surprised by this album, as I thought recently Noel was quoted as saying they would not do a best of, at least not for a long time.

Oasis, that's Liam Gallagher, isn't it? The guy who thought the Stones had some OK songs but they were basically crap?

He should die.

He said challenged Mick Jagger to a fist fight
at the time, but within months Oasis released their version of Street Fighting Man as a bside. Make of that what you want.

With Liam and particularly with Noel, they say a lot of things meant to be somwhat humourous that when printed look a bit silly.

Hi Big Al, I was looking at it again and it is difficult to see what songs they could drop for other classics. I love acquiesce , that one had to be on it. But "Live forever" and "Cigarrettes and alcohol" should have been there.

Live Forever and Cigarettes And Alcohol should've both been on there, no question but thinking about it, the other singles left of are rightly so in my opinion. Roll With It, Little By Little etc may have been hits, but hardly rank up there as their best work.

Agree. What about the song "Morning Glory" - Always loved that. Maybe it should have been a double...Or maybe it doesnt need to exist at all. Im pretty sure its just a kiss off to the record label, but it does make you realize how much great stuff they have made. Not exactly on a par with "Hot Rocks", but maybe on a par with the best of The Faces, Slade, Mott the Hoople etc

Stupid list of songs, looks like the record company is planning volume 2 a couple of years down the line.

I actually like those jerk offs in spite of myself, the last CD was decent, I always thought that they don't try hard enough though.

I think I'd rather just listen to the first two albums. Oasis version of SFM is excellent. I think Liam challenged both Jagger and George Harrison to fights! Any publicity is better than no publicity.

Their first two albums are esential. You could probably make a decent single CD collection out of their releases since. Oasis don't do bad singles, but there have been some real clunkers on their albums from Be Here Now onwards.

Well, you have 3 great tracks from The Masterplan album and one of, if not their GREATEST single, Whatever. This compilation is a must!
