foolt cry was a huge hit in 76. i spent my vacations with my parents in spain and it received massive airplay in the radio. i was more into "hard rock" (i was 14), i liked deep purple, bands like that, so it was not politically correct for me to like fool to cry. but sometimes i caught myself humming he melody, when they played it on the radio. now this tune always remembers me of that holidays. first spliffs, first cuba-libres... and of a girlfriend, who stayed with us then and sadly died in 88. god bless her.
I think...that its about an old man/young girl relation...thats the reason she calls him daddy(but I dont really know)BTW that ending part kills me everytime ,I hear it a real climax!

Hey twang.....similar feelings with me. I was 17 and in Japan all summer of 1976. Fool To Cry was on the radio everywhere that summer, but it wasn't really rocking enough for me. I love it now, mostly for the nostalgia. Sorry to hear about your girlfriend.
