Caught this one on the overhead music in a fast mart recently when I was traveling and it totally made me pause as I had not heard in many a year- apparently most of the folk in the store at that time were thinking the same thing judging by the look on their faces.

I do remember State of Shock being a semi hit back in the day-when Michael Jackson hadn't started his downward inner spiral yet.

I heard this one recently too, first the released studio cut--terrible! totally anemic, but then the Live Aid version with tina turner, and it's not at all bad. A simple rocker given a high-energy performance.

Did mick write the song? I was surprised that he played it at Live Aid, without michael j. Because on the studio version, mick is very subdued, buried underneath crappy keyboards and drum samples. The live version with tina rips!
