Re: Cologne

Stones Tod is right. The set list, for the most part,is piss poor and uninspired.I can't complain about As Tears Go By,She's So Cold or the new songs but, they're making it easy to attack the rest of the selections. How many times are they going to play Slipping Away?Don't get me wrong over here - it's a great song but, enough is enough. You can't tell me that all of the casual fans will start a riot if that song was replaced.

i don't know - 30-something. What difference does it make? It's not a great setlist (IMHFO) whether you've been to 1,000 shows or none.....didn't say it was/wasn't a good show...neither of knows that.....

This @#$%& Vegas tour is called "A Bigger Bang" - with now three songs left in the set and always the same. Where are It Won't Take Long, Laugh I Nearly Died or Let Me Down Slow etc.? Why 70 % hit singles in the set? Does this fact ingrease ticket sales? I doubt it! - It's really sad. The final act has begun.

It's the Victory Lap tour, mate! They were going to call it that but realized it would be confusing with having done a tour in recent memory with the same two initials.

You make some good points. The vast majority of people going to the shows only go to the 1 show close to where they live and don't follow setlists online prior to making their decision on whether to buy tickets or not. If this truly is the last world tour for the band, they should have no concern about future ticket sales in that region. Theoretically that would free them up to play whatever they want in the show, knowing that it would not adversely turn off casual fans from buying tickets for their next tour.

I think even casual fans realize that the Stones have a new studio album out and whether they have bought that album or not, would expect them to play a fair amount of songs from that album. I know if I see a band that I am only c asual fan of that I will get a lot of new songs I may not know. I think most people expect this. If the Stones dedicated 5-6 of the songs to being A Bigger Bang songs, I really don't think it would make the difference between a casual fan loving the show or not. They're not going to go online or talk to a friend in another part of the country or world who has not already bought a concet ticket and discourage them from seeing the band on this tour.

But, the larger and more important point is that if the Stones had ANY confidence in the new material - they would play it and promote the album. You don't have to KNOW a good song to appreciate a good song.
