Phone call from a friend inside Munich stadium

As I am looking at the webcam of Munich stadium I got a phone call from a friend who has just got inside. She said there were lots of problems to get a spot in the front row. All fos-ticket holders were let in from the side BEHIND the stage and they were stopped several times to get their tickets checked. Then they all were forced to get into Keith's side. As my friend was heading for Ronnie's side she just couldn't figure out how to get there. She said she wasn't sure but there was a way from Keith's side through the catwalk to get into Ronnie's section but there also, people were stopped for some minutes before they let anybody in (which I cannot believe really). Anyway she gave up her plans to get to Ronnie's side and preferred to stay in Keith's section. But they were not allowed to go to the barrier at the front as they were all stopped by security people about twenty metres in front of the barrier. Only people with "special wristbands" (I suppose VIP travel package ticket holders) were let through to the barrier and after that the "common fos-ticket holders". So finally she got a spot at the barrier on Keith's side but about 20 metres to the side from the centre of the stage. My friend sounded as if it was a terrible experience and this silly procedure to treat fos ticket holders was disgusting. Anyway she'll keep me informed about what's going on and later about the show. I'll post her comments if something seems important enough to let you know.....

By the way, by looking at the webcam again there really seems to be a narrow passage between Keith's and Ronnie's section. I wonder if you really have to go through Keith's section to get to Ronnie's......strange. What was it like in Vienna ? Did you have your own entrance for Ronnie's side or were you led through Keith's section ????

Seems like FOS fills very slow - the normal section gets filled quicker.

Yes, got the confirmation call. b-stage between the two barriers you can see on the picture. And also, it's true, the only way into Ronnie's section is through a "hole" in the catwalk from Keith's side.....really strange. And my friend says...the place is really empty at 6 p.m. They are standing at the barrier on Keith's side and still nobody standing behind them...

I guess about 45 - 50 000 people will be there tonight. Used to be 60- to
70 000 on previous Stones tours though. Will be quite full but far from sold - out.

Didn't they reduce seating capacity for the 2002 European Athletics Championships? Wider rows, more comfortable seats, etc.

75.000 according to IORR and will probably be at least 95 filled up - that is > 70.000

FOS area is OK IMO

I don't see a lot from the webcam but those spaces in the catwalk were used only by the security in Milan and Vienna. After the support act they were filled with proper parts of the catwalk. Normal entry to both FOS areas, in Vienna people on Keith's side had a white wristband and on Ronnie's a pink one.
Size of the FOS area seems to me alright too...

Well the FOS area is perhaps a bit big, but if you're a really huge fan, you don't care - you turn up early anyway (and get close to the stage). Better system than in the US, with all reserved seats on the field. The first rows are often full of businessmen who don't know other tunes than Satisfaction and Honky Tonk.

It's nice to see All Down The Line make a reappearance in the setlist.

You can't estimate the crowd until the show is on you know. May be 10,000 unsold tickets tonight. upper seats. The FOS was very small, actually normal, plus another one behind it, and a large packed GA crowd, see my post under FOS subject. Great show by the way. Keith was declared "Weltmeister in palmklätter" by Mick during the presentations. World champion in palmtree climbing. Because Mick had a German comment earlier on saying: Is it true that Munich has got the world championship in ... (did not understand what Mich said) some sport or work I guess.
