Rediscovered my vinyl copy of Dirty Work in a crate deep in the back of storage today - it's opened, but it still has the translucent red plastic sleeve and special sticker on it!
Not a sign of wear and tear on it, so probably didn't play it more than once (I also still have the cassette which I probably played a few times back in the day).
And while I'm currently NOT listening to it, thought it was an interesting oddball souvenir/time capsule of 1986 in all it's garish and gaudy glory.
It's probably even worth less than the day I originally bought it back in '86!

In honor of my discovery, I'll listen to their cover of Harlem Shuffle on youtube - not too bad (although I'll always prefer the original)! thumbs up

The sound of silence. No music, no news feeds papyrus or digital, no television, no radio. OMG, it's a wonderful reprieve if y'all know what I mean.

I sure could have used this during the five year California drought (or was it six years? Or seven?) as I nearly forgot the sounds, but thankfully we've had a decent amount of rain over the last month.
Still draught conditions in many areas of the state, but things are looking better every day with more rain on the way this weekend!

Eric Clapton - Let It Rain

Curious - what are the 'news feed papyrus'?

So many of your posts are right where I'm at, that it pisses me off that I couldn't convince you of Spiritualized.

The dryer. Waiting on my scarf and then I'm out the door. I'll spend some time with Crosseyed Heart on the drive into work.

Happy Friday, everyone!

As for me...what I'm listening to...if you want to hear a sonic mosaic of organic gorgeous genius profoundly stunning uniqueness, check out this Jeff Buckley acoustic live radio performance. In the '90s there were lots of moments like this---unfettered unleashed creative zolts and zaps of expressive musical and artistic energy washing through the air. Positive and exciting and freeing. If you grew up or spent any time as a music freak in Washington DC you were intimately familiar with WHFS. Sunday nights in the '90s the best way to wind down your weekend---late night---was to tune into this show...Just Passin' Through.
