Yes, I listened earlier. It definitely incorporates much of what makes Bowie so fascinating and eternally essential. As a song, it isn't entirely 'my thing', yet, I 'hear' the genius all the same. The track reminds me of post-Kid A, Radiohead, a little.
I agree the soundtrack version is good, but disagree that it's better.
The guitars rule the 'Let's Dance' version (Nile Rogers, Stevie Ray Vaughan), and take it to another level.

Re: Cat People - seriously confused.com on it. There's the version on Sound & Vision box set, which is a soundtrack to the film, there also seems to be a demo from a Tarantino soundtrack, and there's the Let's Dance version.
