I'm listening to my doorbell ringing every 2 minutes with kids screaming TRICK OR TREAT!!!

Happy Hallowe'en!

Wow! They trick or treat on November 1st as well!!?? That's AWESOME!

IORR runs on London time, or maybe on the time wherever bv lives. Anyway, it was still Halloween in the States when treacle posted.

Oh. Yeah, it said November 1... I forget that.

Well just don't tell him that. I want him to believe that I believe that he has trick or treaters that show up on November 1 as well.

Disc1 of the Bob Dylan Basement Tapes, Bootleg Series Vol 11.

Bob has an amazing knowledge of Sun Records, and early Johnny Cash.

Alternate take of "Lay Lady Lay" by Bob Dylan. Just before him, "Poetry Man" by Queen Latifah which is very good. Check 'em out.

Wait a minute. Is that John Barry, and if it is, is he miming on the harmonica??? It sounds like the original soundtrack recording to me, and Toots Thielemans is the guy who played on it.

Hmmm....strange.
And yes looks like he's miming.

All I know is John Barry composed it and won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition in 1970.

Some comments below video on youtube (which I didn't read yesterday) include:

Hasa Ke:

"I'm not so sure that's John Barry playing. I'd bet real money that it's Toots. The music is the same as in the movie, and the harmonica solo is note for note as it was in the movie. If Barry could actually play the harmonica like that he wouldn't have needed Toots. Yeah, I think it's Toots playing not Barry?"

And to add to the confusion....

Harmonicando:

"John Barry was a composer, not a harmonica player. Who appear in this video is Tommy Reilly. While "Toots" played on the film soundtrack, the harmonic player you will hear on the album release is the Canadian virtuoso player Tommy Reilly whose skill on this instrument some regard as the best ever".

"Tommy Reilly. Beautiful technique. Makes it look effortless".?

And here's a video of Tommy Reilly's studio version, which doesn't sound like the version above:
