Zidane obviously came on the pitch determined to provide a great commemorative DVD and gave them each and every trick in the bag - the man is just ON TOP OF THE WORLD, on one match he outplays anyone - anybody seen Ronaldinho by the way???
I'm sooooo admirative, what a master's game!
Special mention to Sagnol, well to the whole of the the ice-cold defense.
You're so right. Zidane was the best player on the pitch tonight. And, seeing as also there were Henry, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, and so on, he's the best in the world.

certainly the greatest since Maradona. Its a tragedy for the game that he's retiring after this tournament
That performance tonight was like watching Picasso paint or Mozart compose a symphony - an absolute masterclass from the maestro
All ease and composure, acting like he has all the time of the world - reminds me of the eye of the hurricane. A genius in football if there ever was one.
Congrats to Olivier and all other Frenchmen!

I really admire Zidane. An artist, it was like he was the brazilian player with the way he touch the ball. Hope he doesnt play so well against Portugal.
Alles les bleus!!! What a masterclass! He completely upstaged a rather pale Brazil. I just hope they win the damn thing again! He commanded France like Napoleon!
Man I haven't seen enogh of Zidane these last years becausae I am in USA. I know he is in his last year but I have so dug watching him this cup. What a leader! Class act all the way!

Up until Austerlitz....!!!!! I think Brazil has a french complex.
Rugby is a joy to me. Worlcup is in 2007. France will win against Australia or New-Zealand.
Zidane sure was great yesterday, but I can't for the life of me figure out why the French coach insists on playing with only one forward. David Trezeguet should be playing with Thierry Henry from the very beginning of the semi finals. I felt sorry for Brazil, but on the other hand - Vive La France!!!
I think the same but it seems that Trezeguet is not in a great shape. maybe he would be more embarassing than useful I still regret that Anelka has not been chosen by the coach to come to Germany

Gazza, even if i know your "francophilie" you make me blush.
By the way Zidane is also a very great man, shy, humble, concerned by the horrors in the world and so on... For that, he's the greatest european player. Kaiser Franz and Cruyf are too selfish and Platini not very smart outside a pitch.
I've been called many things on here and in private, Marc - but thats a first.
You're right about Zidane as a fine human being - a trait thats always made me admire him even more.
It's been a treat to watch him for the last decade. You rarely see grace anything like that on a football pitch. Last night was like a flashback to 2000, when he was at his absolute best and pretty much won the European Championships on his own
Pity he has only two games left. I just hope to hell he doesnt get a yellow card in the semi final as it would be a travesty where he to be banned from playing his last game in a World Cup final
