The entire Wembley show Wood looks like he's ready to fall over and die on the spot. He has this scary look in his eyes, like he is on a really bad trip.

I have this on DVD, it's great stuff.

Couple of things to heat up the standard discussions:

- It shows why I think Ron is better than Taylor, especially the solo on Tumbling Dice, man I love that!!
- Bill SWINGS!!- Keith rocks, and he still rocks it that way nowadays, unlike most of them.
- She's So Cold is completely @#$%& up, but as soon as they get it started, it rocks again. Notice how Mick still hits those high notes which he nowadays doesn't/can't do anymore..

No..it's simply a pro-shot from the footage used for the 26th June Wembley show and shown on the video screen that was above the stage

As you probably know all of the circulating footage runs from just after the start of 'tumbling Dice' until the very end (you get 'Land of hope and glory' boomed over the PA which is very nice and then a few bars of Chuck Berrys "School days' while the crew disassemble the stage)

Lovely footage. What a fantastic, exciting and memorable summer 1982 was. Northern Ireland doing well in the World Cup in Spain, and my first Stones tour, which even in the pre-internet era and despite not being able to get a ticket for the shows in London, Bristol or Newcastle I still managed to follow as avidly as I could before finally seeing them at Slane

Oh, and that version of "Shes So Cold" from Wembley is the same one where according to Nick Kent (and subsequently copied and pasted by other hacks), Keith supposedly punched Ronnie full in the face because he made a mess of the intro to the song. Whilst the camera is on neither of them at the time the incident supposedly took place, its pretty obvious from the demeanour of the band members immediately afterwards (and esepcially Ronnie) that no such attack ever took place. More journalistic sensationalist bollocks.

Thanks Gazza...I still have a Irish newspaper from 82 about The Stones. I think that video is very special cause the focus is on their faces...you dont see that so often.

Yes, it's a kind of special feeling, this London footage.
And I've noticed, what Mathijs said about Ronnie, really scary.

She's so cold - I mean, listen to that highly embarrasing version. Do you know that feeling that you feel embarrased for something you don't have anything to do with? That's what I feel here. It's not only that they completely @#$%& up the intro. The entire song sounds like shit. A band of 14 year olds who are playing their instruments for 2,5 years could play it better. And these are The Rolling Stones, performing in front of 60,000 - 70,000 people and playing like a bunch of beginners. Holy shit....terrible.

Yes they mess it up, but it works great when they got it started,
perhaps not the same energy as the best 81 shows, but that's probably because they're blushing from that first 30 sec.
Don't agree that the entire song sounds like shit,
unless you hate Rolling Stones music in it's entirely.

ahh, the infamous She's So Cold when Keith did *not* fling off his guitar, direct Charlie with his body and then punch Ronnie out!
i love it. LoFL - the look on Keith's face - and Mick just hovering in hope that someone's going to get something together - and ~*Bill!*~

i freakin love the Rolling Stones - and i mean *exactly* the Rolling Stones!

"What do you want - what?!"

Yea, with sssoul, that's true!

There's much of this "partly" soundboards/DVDs out there,
like MSG 72 or Springsteens' Toronto 84 DVD,
I wish the owners of the real unedited recordings came forward,
but obviously they've never traded this full shows, as nobody has them.
My guess is that these people where in the "music-trading" years ago, but now are interested in other stuff....and have families etc. Perhaps the full shows die when they die....

how is it "their" fault that the footage has NEVER circulated and is unlikely ever to circulate?

What there is has been in circulation since about 1983-84, before the concept of DVDs ever existed, let alone bootleg DVD companies

They can hardly unearth footage themselves

Yes, that was actually what I meant, but I walked around the bush, perhaps.

I think I mixed the expressions "beating around the bush" (?) and the norwegian "walking around the porridge"...

I'm glad Mick got rid of that outfit, though.

I think Bill is worse, even though I can't remember what he wore on that show.
He looked like a kindergarden-gym-teacher in 81/82, while Mick looked like a teenager doing aerobics.
I've often thought about how funny it would be if Bill had a whistle around his neck in 81/82.
And perhaps he could show Keith a red card during the intro of She's So Cold at Wembley.

You'd be tempted to think Bill was an aerobics intstructor, but the lack of movement gives him away.

thats not my problem , they are the ones that keep putting out the rehash not me,
if they have the connections they claim they can at least get us something different, maybe not wembley 82 but something for gods sake, at this point
i would even be interested in some different interviews if not a performance
i mean really man havent you had enough of L&G and HAMPTON already

not really as I dont personally buy bootlegs or dont keep up to date with what each company puts out. Its all just upgrades on stuff I've owned for years anyway

However, you did say that "if jointrip, 4reels and all the others would do there job we would have it", which is 100% wrong. If it doesnt exist or isnt in circulation AT ALL, regardless of what 'connections' they have (which are in reality no better than some of the main collectors), theres nothing they can do to make the rest of that show available.

Its a bit of a fluke thats its available at all. I remember hearing about it when it first circulated in 1983. Some guy bought the master (which proves in itself that what we have is all that there is) off a member of the crew for something like something like about £400-500 (an incredible amount even now, let alone 1983) and then ran off about 50 first generation copies for about £25 a time.

I was down the front at this gig - my 1st. and there was NO fighting over SSC. I was in the crush.
I only saw the footage for the first time about 3 years ago and keep thinking I'll see my 17 yr old face staring back at me when they scan the audience before the encore !
