Born optimist I still want to believe that the cancellation is
because of some new plans for Sweden - Stockholm?

We couldnt, though, exclude the possibility that Charlie has finally
got 'nuff... ?

there's obviously been a big, internal turn-around in decisions here.

Whether it be for health or financial reasons, we do not know, and when an 'official' statement, is made, you can bet it'll be lame, vague and dismissive, with future ridiculous 'promises' thrown-in, as a sweetener, for the hardcore....
but will you/we buy it, this time?

The Euro 2007 tour cancellation is going to prove to be,
one false promise, too many, for alot of people.

Inga nya datum för nästa år är inplanerade.

The mistake the Cohl/Stones camp is making in all this is quite simply not issuing authoritative interim statements from time to time, especially as individual promoters are gradually "drip feeding" news about these cancellations of the ostensibly "postponed" shows. The camp should be aware that this is going on, the effect it's having, and take some action to either confirm or deny unequivocally. There's a time for staying quiet and saying zilch, but by the same token there's a time for breaking the silence. By any standards, especially in view of the contents of and/or inferences within the 2nd June statement, that time has arrived.

That's just such a joke...Cancelling a concert after the other, very silently, no official word or statement. Just sad.

You shouldn't believe everything in this paper, but maybe they're right this time.

Let's hop it's for a bigger show in Stockholm instead. I've heard rumours about this too, but don't know what to believe in anymore.

What if they could repeat summer of 2003 in Stockholm instead...
3 shows in 5 nights...

Maybe Nya Ullevi just took a chance by saying the show will go on next year? In that perspective everything looks crazy. But as far as I understand, the Stones have never announced a tour next year. If promotors take things for granted it's not the bands fault.

Lets enjoy this tour first, then we'll see what happens in the fall and winter. They have never annonced a new tour before the one they're doing is over.

Be patient. I'm confident that the boys will do everything to make us happy. Ok, they earn loads of money, but why discuss that? Theres nothing we can do about it anyway.

And as fans we should stand together and support the band we love. Go to the shows you can, and stay cool.

I'm still waiting for BV to chime in with some lame-arse message supporting the Stones as if they're infallible like he always does.

I already sent my Frankfurt tix back. As far as I'm concerned those money grubbing greedy scrotum-suckers can lick my nutsack. I've thrown thousands out the window buying their merchandise, music, concert tickets, etc. and this is the thanks I get - vague truths that turn out to be lies.

let the ball-bag licking commence.

Once again, sorry if I sound a bit agitated and irritated. Thing is, I AM! I wish the Allman Brothers would come to Europe. Sigh!

I think it's very likely that they never tour again. I don't particularly mind either way honestly. But the "one false promise too many" will then not really matter anymore will it?
I just find it funny that all the outraged people are saying stuff like 'I'm done with the Stones'. Yeah, well THEY are probably done too. Cancellations this drastic have never happened before.

The "wrong information" comes from the stones camp. When they announced that the tour was going on, but some shows were postponed, at the same time promoters (in spain) already said that tickets were automatically refunded, that is, shows were cancelled. They are lying and playing with fans and other people that trusted them.

a rather large and inaccurate generalisation, there.
People are legitimately outraged- which you appear oblivious to and fail to grasp.

> Yeah, well THEY are probably done too.

done with what? marginalising their hardcore fanbase with ill-conceived and scandalous business practices?

Um, like I said, cancellations this drastic have never happened before. And "scandalous" business practices are not something that the apparently very business savvy and greedy Stones would be smart to do.

You dont know what the hell is going on any more than I do. And if my saying that the Stones may be finished is "too large and innaccurate" then so is your "ill-conceived and scandalous" thing.

You are all so dramatic all of a sudden. But up to this tour, you were all happy campers, buying tickets like crazy. Why the drastic change? Why the drastic change among the Stones camp too? Don't you think you yourself might be oblivious to something MAJOR going on? Like I said, I'm willing to bet they are done.

Up to this tour, there've never been such unbelievable cancellations but, more importantly, such blatant disregard of the fans. Yes, the Stones have been known to be greedy and ungreatful but to this extent? No, I don't think we've seen this before, hence the "drama".

And I bet you'd be dramatic too if they weren't playing anywhere near you, kept your money for months without ANY information and promosing rescheduled shows that were never meant to happen from the very start. It was different first when Keith had the accident - they didn't know what was going to happen. Now I'm certain they do. They should just come out and tell us the truth.

maybe you're right- maybe they're done-maybe something is seriously wrong,
but until they deem their fanbase and their paying customers, worthy of respect, by providing accurate information on their official website, by informing customers with tickets for cancelled shows, that they are indeed cancelled, and by providing coherant refund information for said shows, then their business practices will continue to be called into question.

Yes, what's with all this mystery and secrecy? WHY do they need to keep things covered up and let all the rumours out? I just don't get their way of thinking.

As if things could get ANY worse for them, regarding fan appreciation and willingness to buyt tickets.

I've been in that position before, thanks.

It still doesnt warrant the drama that is going on. SO, all of a sudden, with no questions asked, the Stones decide to turn on their long suffering fans? Again, don't you think there might be a major reason why? One you can't 'guess' yet?

No? It's just their greediness? Okay, then. Never mind.

Well, it's been a collective disregard of some 30+ years. You do come to a point when you realize it - even late.

But let's suppose you're right, and this means that we have come to the end of the Rolling Stones. Is this some kind of reason to excuse this pathetic behavior and lack of organizing skills? So they've decided to wrap it up and they couldn't care less?

I think if that was the case, they'd like to go out in a great way. If it is true, they wouldn't want the last way the world would remember the Stones would be as a ripping-off money sucking mega company. This sort of behavior doesn't click with the "end of Stones" theory you're suggesting.

If they were/are finished, then you'd unfortunately probably get an explanation AFTER the fact. I'm not saying that is an excuse, just that it would seem to be an abrupt and not very well planned ending.
