Mickijaggeroo - had I not pushed pretty f***ing hard with www.ticketmaster.co.uk for a response to my queries after noticing that (a) they weren't catering to overseas buyers for stuff they're selling AT THE MOMENT, and (b) having been asked by someone based in the States to buy a ticket on their behalf - all you overseas residents would at this time be blissfully unaware that TM have NO intention of mailing your tickets out (even those bought long ago). They've obviously not written to people to tell them. I'm as shocked as you are to have learned this. So no surprise you feel you're in the dark. I think the way they're conducting themselves is truly scandalous. If as a UK resident buying tickets for lets say ... events in Norway, States, Canada or wherever else a "Ticketmaster" company operates and the same thing happened to me, they'd NEVER hear the end of it. I wouldn't let them get away with it.

it seems like it's probably connected with the new insurance limits for international post, so it wouldn't affect just one show.
i wonder what time they'll open the will-call windows.

OK folks. This is a major breach of contract and I shall sue for damages, for failing to inform a customer thet the product bought will not be available, for fraud (for accepting payment and charging my credit card, and having no intention of delivering the tickets). Wow, is this one going to look good in court. And you can bet there will be a lot of "celebrity" witnesses in the court room. The British tabloids will get all the fun they ever dreamed of...

smile: that's the spirit, Shidoobee!
seems like the "breach of contract" involves the postage fees they charged, since the product will be available at the venue -
if they ever *tell* us that, of course, and if they open the will-call windows about three days in advance.

>> a lot of "celebrity" witnesses in the court room <<

smile: are you going to subpoena the Stones?

If not them, their management, tour promotors and probably also Jagger, since he's the band's link to the promotors and ticket sales. It's relevant. And he'll be able to tell in which way Ticketmaster-companies in other parts of the world handle their business. That's going to be pretty interresting. Since even developing countries handle ticket sales more professionally than the UK. The old super power, seeing it's former colonies passing old Britail... Shock, horror!
We'll see what my lawyer says, but he's a mean, tough bastard with almost exclusively music business clients. (not record companies - "just" artists")
So - Ticketmaster UK - SEE YOU IN COURT!

well, for the record: this particular mess is Ticketmaster UK's doing, not Stones Inc.,
and i can think of cooler ways to get in touch with the artists than trying to serve a summons on them. :E

Good luck with that. I'm sure they're shaking in their boots. Ridiculous.

Fred Rambler you got the email before Royal Mail in the UK decided to change the insurance cover for overseas letter post.

Admittedly TicketMaster could not know at the time that RM would suddenly decide to limit insurance cover to £100 for cash /Trav checks and tickets sent by Recorded International delivery.

I do think it is pretty stupid though that they did not just transferr all tickets purchased by international fans to e-ticket.

Then they just email it to you and you print it out and a lot less hassle for everyone involved.

Called TM this monday. They couldn't find my original confirmation number for Wembley, but after a couple of minutes on hold, they found my customer number for Twickenham. I was promised that the tickets WILL be send to my Belgian address shortly.

Lol here we go again.

Wish they would make up their minds

Or....

Are Europian fans being treated differently to US Fans for some strange reason.

Ireland is treated as international by TM UK so is not Europe the same.

Anybody know how European people can got tickets??? I´ve notice than since the On-Stage tickets are on sale.... the delivery methods are for customers on Great Britain, Nothern Irland and Republic of Ireland.... not just the on-stege tickets... ALL the tickets!!

Paulywaul, thanks!
Shidoobee, just go ahead, it can´t do us any harm if this gets in the publics eye.

That new RM rule of not insuring things over a 100£ don´t apply to me, I was lucky to get one of the front seats for 60£ and including TM:s fee it added up to about 73£...So I wonder if they´ll send by post? Probably not...

Mickijaggeroo, I'm personally not pursuing this matter with Ticketmaster anymore, just in case you might have thought I was. I reside in the UK. The reason I made quite some noise was in order to bring it to you folks' attention, because although I'm not implicated myself, I do consider it a hugely important issue to all you overseas dwellers. I first noticed strange things late last week when these ONSTAGE jobs finally came on sale. It was abundantly obvious that Ticketmaster were making mistakes, changing policies about ticket collection and/or delivery, and not informing people, and also giving out conflicting and ambiguous information to whomsoever telephoned them. I do suggest that some of you guys/gals pick up where I left off - so to speak - otherwise it will indeed just slip away.

Vilhelm honey, after your hopeful post about the value of your order, i asked Chris
(who if you recall phoned TM UK and was told his tickets *would* be delivered to a non-UK address)
whether the order he was inquiring about was by any chance a single 60-GBP ticket. he hasn't replied yet,
but you see: i don't *just* laugh and call you honey. :E

well ... there's another good theory shot to hell: Chris *wasn't* asking about a single 60-GBP ticket.
i agree that we all need to be pestering TM for clarification of this - if people can't phone them
they should use that email contact i gave the link to in my first post on this thread. and *please* everybody
point out when you contact them that people all over the world are in dire need of clarity about this!

i've also been struggling to get the rs.com staff's attention about this issue;
if people want to add to the thread over there to keep it lively, here it is: [rollingstones.com]
it's also important to use their "contact us" gizmo to give the staff a link to that thread and ask them to respond to it: [www.rollingstones.com]

My solicitor har written a letter to Ticketmaster... Now, I'm just waiting.
If they don't come up with a guarantee that the tickets I bought will be mailed to my home address, I'll sue them. And there'll be expert witnesses...

My personal opinion is the European promoters proved much too difficult and incompetent to work with resulting in the Stones saying screw it to 2007. They screwed the pooch.

That's a very fair comment. I don't know why, but I have a nagging suspicion that you may be very close to the truth with that statement. I've no concrete grounds for feeling that way, it's just a gut instinct. But once in a while gut instincts serve us very well.

Good on ya, I'm very glad to hear it. It's nothing less than Ticketmaster deserve. I hope you get a suitably grovelling response from Ticketmaster and, dare I say .......... satisfaction.

Re: protesting the TicketMaster UK mess

ahh, i'm so glad someone else realizes that the promoters are a side in all this.
i think not many of us can easily imagine what complications there might be -
different ones for each of these individual promoters -
and the theory that some of them just couldn't work out anything reasonable postponement-wise makes sense to me too.
and it doesn't rule out Stones Inc finding other promoters to work with (for example next year).

but that's another story. TM UK isn't the promoter, they're the freakin ticket vendors, and they're screwing up major.
let us know what kind of response you get, Shidoobee - and i still hope other people will bug TM UK until we all get some clarity.

We don't really use the term "solicitor" in the US, so whenever I hear people use that term, I always want to say "you have a pimp?".

sorry to slither back to the TM UK topic:
the staff at rs.com has said they're trying to get some clear information about this international-delivery mess.
so maybe that's some kind of progress; here's that thread again for anyone who feels like helping to keep it active:
