Richard Manuel and Rick Danko of The Band. Vocals and harmonies respectively. What an Angel's Choir!

Richard and Rick for sure - but they were no slouches on keyboards and bass, respectively, either!

You're right, Tod. Great musicians. And I had the fortune to be one of Rick's friends, so I'll just add: What a great guy! He was a very kind, warm person. Everyone who are wondering about the rock'n'roll heaven ought to litsten to The Band's "Too Soon Gone". A wonderfull song about those we miss.

great call. first time I heard that song, I wept. beautiful. Rick was my favorite of the Band's vocalist - a true original. only had the chance to see Rick 3 times - once with Butterfield, once with Ringo and once with the last incarnation of The Band in 1996. I consider myself lucky.

Yeah, Ronnie, Steve, Cassie, Allen, and Leon are all plying at the big honky tonk in the sky. BTW, it's Lynyrd Skynyrd. Ronnie Van Zant has became somewhat of a redneck cultural icon where I live (American south), along with Elvis and Dale Earnhardt.
