Yeah, you guys are right! At the time I only care whether postponed European concerts will take place or not.

Christ almighty mate, youve been saying this tour wouldnt happen for weeks ever since Keith got hurt and even when they DO confirm shows, you still cant grasp that the shows are postponed and not cancelled. Have some optimism for a change.

The shows will sell better next year for several reasons, the most significant being more time to sell the tickets and the absence of a World Cup - and theyre not 'starting a tour in the summer - its a continuation of the current one!!

Their tour wasnt 'at first' due to finish in December - it was due to finish 'at first' in August. As theyre adding extra shows later this year, whats to stop them rescheduling shows for next year that were suposed to take place this month!

ask yourself a simple question - is it easier to reschedule 15 shows or is it easier to reschedule 35? Theres no logic in postponing 20 or so American shows (which were in all likelihood provisionally booked or at worst at an advanced stage in negotiation before Keiths accident) to 2007 when the tickets havent even gone on sale yet - so that they can play 15 European shows in the autumn in mostly freezing weather and a atime of year where its a nightmare to book stadiums and hotels at short notice. Rescheduling as few shows as possible causes less inconvenience .

people seem to think that the Stones have some fixed deal that if the tour doesnt end on a certain date, they wont play any more shows, Charlie will leave etc.

Yeah, you are right. Except in the UK they have skipped a lot in Europe. With my Amsterdam-ticket I just have to wait untill next year and those f*cking bastards are making plans of visiting the US and Canada this year. It's all about money and they don't care at all about the European fans who are dying to see them.

Why are people so unwilling to go to the Stones, why must the Stones come to them?

Seems a very small trade off for the opportunity to see them in consecutive years.

Accidents happen.
If your show got postponed you may get your money back.
Simple as that.
Then you may get a show next year if you are lucky.
People seems to think the Stones are immortal and eternal.
They are made of flesh and blod. Real people.
Thjey have been forced to cancel shows on every tour since 1998.
Not many shows but some. This time it got worse.
But they are getting older so expect more of this for the future.
That is what is happening when people get older.

In this case, I think drunkenness and stupidity was more of a factor than old age!

As much as I love The Stones, I doubt I would go again (New York City) if they're playing the same setlist.

Regardless, they should do more European shows, especially in the early part of October....when I'll be there. winking smiley

Agree, they did shows in October during the Licks tour.

Simple fact:

I work as a salesman.
I get one order from a customer and I set the delivery time.
Whoops an accident happen and I can't deliver.
What is happening now is that when the goods ordered by the first
customer gets in stock I deliver to a second customer before the first one.

I GOT SACKED FOR DOING THAT!

Just a reminder to the professionals of the industry of rock and roll!

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!

I do agree with "accidents do happen"..., Gazza, BUT :

Unless next year REALLY happens, they add theatre shows like they promised at the press conference they would, and I get some sort of formal apology in form of a personalized theatre show ticket and civilised dinner with Charlie Watts, they can just stick their 2007 tour where the sun don't shine. Yes, the USA fall dates were probably planned a long time ago, but the point is that as a fan I have been treated like the proverbial lump of shite and that the Stones' agenda is nothing else but MONEY.

Up until today I have not personally received a single explanatory line (except an email from Sarvicaixa in Barcelona that was really meant for a Dutchman called johan telling him that his Barcelona date had been postponed). RS>COM, in contrast, still have my 200$ for two memberships, and Servicaixa the money for 8 Madrid tickets. All the time and effort in securing deals to swap tickets for Amsterdam 2 as well as the money for the Madrid flights went down the toilet.
Jumping Jack Flash is a flush flush flush....

Do I resent it?

Yes!

Am I getting sick and tired of people not seing the facts and still believing the Stones's shit smells of roses?

Yes!

Am I looking forward to doing the same stressful stuff next year?

No!

Am I considering simply dumping the Stones and listening to their back catalogue in the comfort of my home?

Most definitely!

Yes, Gazza Sweetie, I know....
Anyway, at least the Berlin show is still going ahead!
I shall prepare myself to have the party of my life, as it may be my very last Stones show ever. After that I shall find myself some new little band of 20yearolds and shall become their Nr 1 Cradlesnatcherfanette, or should that be Nr 1 Cradlesnatcherfanny???....
